If you could see anyone appointed creative director of Christian Dior womenswear, who would it be?
That was the initial question that sparked the idea for the latest episode of the Fashion Forward Friends podcast. And as the Spring/Summer 2021 collections drew to an end, that question expanded to include four other major houses co-hosts Thomas Monks and Kelly Lund, myself, theorized could benefit from new leadership.
In our most favorite episode to date, we each appointed three DREAM creative directors for Chanel, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Burberry and Givenchy. Holding those close to our chest, we went into the episode not having a clue who the other would pick but ended up having some surprise agreements — and of course disagreements.
From Clare Waight Keller and Alber Elbaz to Phoebe Philo, our appointed creative director lists include some big names who have previously held the reins at major houses but need a new home.
