A NYFW Fall 2020 recap that breaks down both the good and the bad of the Big Apple’s first attempt at a virtual fashion week.
In delivering a NYFW Fall 2020 recap – we have to first acknowledge the unique and historic circumstances of this season’s event.
Traditional runway shows and presentations simply aren’t safe at this time and designers had to develop new ways to show their work. What’s particularly great about NYC in general is its tenacity and to see a virtual New York Fashion Week event take place was largely a triumph. That said, it still had its bumps along the way.
A NYFW Fall 2020 Recap
After a full week of video presentations and lookbooks from NYC’s hottest designers, my fashionable partner in crime Thomas Monks and I turned on our microphones for a NYFW Fall 2020 recap episode of our joint podcast Fashion Forward Friends. And truly, this season, there was A LOT to discuss!!
In a lively episode, we weigh in on Marchesa’s return to the NYFW schedule after the Harvey Weinstein scandal, announce our new must-watch designer, share critiques of the CFDA’s Runway 360 platform and have clashing opinions on Jason Wu and Christian Siriano. We also breakdown the collections that most inspired us and disappointed us as well as those whose presence we missed on this season’s schedule.
So, to my fellow fashionistas, grab yourself something to drink and enjoy a top-to-bottom NYFW Fall 2020 recap episode that breaks down the week’s biggest highs and biggest lows.
