Monique Lhuillier is always a shining highlight of New York Fashion Week, and her Fall 2016 collection definitely did not disappoint!
When Monique Lhuillier stages a runway show, the Hollywood startlets come flocking. It seems the celebs love her colorful concoctions and Monique Lhuillier clearly has an appreciation of the stars as well. In fact, style icon and actress Talitha Getty is sited as the source of inspiration behind Monique’s Fall 2016 collection – which plays with luxe colors and textures.
In the height of the 60’s and 70’s, Talitha Getty was an actress, style muse and beloved by many – including the likes of Diane von Furstenberg. Her zest for life and Bohemian look was the perfect inspiration for Monique Lhuillier’s tousled Fall 2016 runway collection.
Models wore hippie waves and dark eyeliner as they walked the runway, sporting metallic hues and psychedelic prints. The swishy silhouettes were accompanied by pops of sparkle, like sequined blouses and socks. It’s a collection that celebrates color and romance, with a rocker-edge.
With a colorful front of starlets, ranging from Hilary Duff to Revenge star and style blogger Ashley Madekwe, we’re certainly going to be seeing the stunning thirty look collection popping up on runways, press functions and the talk show circuit.
I, of course, wouldn’t mind a piece or two popping into my personal closet for an upbeat look at the office (and happy hour to follow). The Monique Lhuillier woman is fun with a penchant for mixing colors and textures to create pops of energy to the everyday landscape. There’s even a smashing gown or two that would be beautiful on the red carpet – and with the Oscars just a week away, who knows. Maybe Monique Lhuillier will make an appearance on the award ceremony and after-party red carpets.
On that note, let’s swoon over Monique Lhuillier’s latest:
