NYFW Update: For the Fall/Winter 2016 collection, Zimmermann went big!
Today, we continue our discussion of New York Fashion Week with a glimpse behind-the-scenes of Zimmerman’s Fall/Winter 2016 Collection. It was pretty major, guys.
At the reigns, Nicky Zimmermann looked to capture light and its movement for the fall collection, in an uplifting and optimistic way. With optimism on his mind, he worked with rich colors, grand-scale fringe, vibrant prints and slinky silhouettes to tell his story on the New York runways. The show was definitely a welcomed burst of life in the trenches of New York this week, which features frigid temperatures of around 10 degrees in the forecast. (Brrr!)
This Zimmermann collection is definitely one of my favorites of the fall season, thus far. I love the way metallics, silk and lace are intertwined, yielding silhouettes that are as slinky as they are lavish. Zimmermann himself sites India as a source of inspiration, and it certainly shines through…
And I’m ready too book my trip and build my closet, pronto.
