It’s a biannual tradition, swooning over Elie Saab‘s latest haute couture collection. If there’s one thing fashion girls everywhere love, it’s an Elie Saab gown. And the collection did not disappoint!
Maybe it has something to do with how many princess books and television shows I’ve been consuming lately, but Elie Saab‘s Spring 2016 Couture collection had me internally spazzing with excitement. Okay, the footwear might be questionable (moon boots with couture?) but no doubt, the glittering designs had me ooh-ing and ahh-ing through the entire 50-look collection.
Coming off my Reign post where we discussed how to dress like a princess in our everyday lives, (read that here) I thought it was necessary to follow up with Elie Saab couture. After all, no one screams I’M A PRINCESS quite like Elie Saab. It was tough narrowing down my choices, but I managed to pick my 10 favorite looks from the latest collection and am ready to divulge them with you for one big, giant gush-fest. Are you ready?
Elie Saab, be still my heart.
I think what initially drew me into loving this Spring 2016 collection was the mesmerizing cool tones. It has a full on dream-like effect, from the full-length ball gowns and jacquard jackets…to the dreamy prints and splashes of blue. Decidedly, no one does glittering embellishment quite like Elie Saab, but the couture collection added intricate draping, ruffled layers and sweeping fringe to the conversation.
There are so many elements of beauty at work, making it an irresistible collection that is guaranteed to be a major player on the major red carpets this year. Perhaps we’ll see one of the gowns pop up on the Oscar red carpet next month? On Brie Larson or Rooney Mara, perhaps?
