Greetings, fashionistas! I’m in a complete haze after four days hibernating in a frozen tundra with single digit temperatures, two inches of ice and more snow on top of it. It took me a solid 45 minutes to dig my way out for a trip to the gym and I’m longing for spring more than I do that first morning cup of coffee.

Suffice to say, I’m clinging to any sign of warmer days ahead.

After time traveling to the 1960s for a his fall collection, the Georges Hobeika Spring 2022 couture designs offer a sartorial thesis on the “euphoria and the wonderful impression of invincibility produced by a first kiss.”

Butterfly detailing emulates the feeling that arises in the stomach during such a precious romantic moment and flushed, strawberry pinks are the charming rosy coloring from the impulses of the heart.

A first kiss is a powerful experience and much like the dawning of the spring season opens an ocean of new possibilities. There is such a wave of emotion and chemical reactions that come from a from a first kiss and it’s a fantastic moment to celebrate for spring. Especially at a time where I think we could all do with a little boost of romance.

In addition to an invigorating color palette of golds, pinks and even matcha green — the Georges Hobeika Spring 2022 couture collection fruitfully experiments with silhouettes. The house delivers an ambitious 60 gowns but each with a different shape. There are laser-sharp cutouts. There are lush feathered trims.
