Wow, this summer has been a record-breaking hot one!

Some days I could be found blasting myself with two fans – in air conditioning – to recover from time outdoors.

Following back surgery in late June, I was assigned a hefty back brace that’s made tolerating the heat and humidity only that much more challenging. The extreme conditions and brace haven’t gotten in the way of my joy for the season, though. I’ve been embracing the warm weather, the greenery and the extended sunshine knowing all too well they won’t last forever. Soon enough we’ll be back in the wintertime with dark skies at 5:30 pm and barren trees.

Summer 2022 Makeup Favorites

On a beauty front, I essentially gave up the practice of wearing a daily highlighter. The heat and humidity helped me create a glistening “dewy’ look all on my very own – so thank you Mother Nature for product saved there.

Summer is also a season where I scale back considerably on using foundation. I have so many in my collection that I truly love but when the weather is hot and the humidity is high – I go a much lighter route for my complexion. Skin tints become my friend as well as wearing nothing more than some concealer atop my daily SPF. Water and sweat-proof products are also an absolute must!

To celebrate the products that I’ve been reaching for all season long — I’ve rounded up my summer 2022 makeup favorites for you, below! Some are new releases and others are favs you can find at your local drugstore.

Wander Beauty Pack Up & Glow

Starting off my summer 2022 makeup favorites is Wander Beauty’s non-greasy SPF 40 that also doubles as a primer! It has such a lovely, light consistency that sits beautifully beneath makeup as well as on TOP when touched up throughout the day. There’s also a subtle radiance to its finish that is lovely on those days where I’ve decided to skip makeup altogether.

The formula features only clean ingredients – including Vitamin D and plant-based squalane to further protect your complexion.

Huda Beauty GloWish Multi Dew Skin Tint

Nine time out of ten time this summer? I’ve been skipping foundation altogether and reaching for tinted moisturizers instead. My favorite? Huda Beauty’s GloWish Skin Tint that has a very light consistency that is extremely comfortable in the summer heat and humidity. The light-to-medium coverage nicely evens out tone and conceals imperfections while allowing your natural skin to shine through.

Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Foundation

On the occasions where I find myself reaching for foundation, I’ve continued to love Maybelline’s Dream Urban Cover foundation.

In fact, I venture to say its not just one of my summer 2022 makeup favorites but a favorite in every season because of its strength of coverage and longevity. Included you’ll also find a health SPF 50 to provide added skin protection throughout the day to your standard daily sunscreen. Few foundations hold up this well in extreme heat and humidity and I will sincerely be crushed if Maybelline discontinues this because I LOVE it so.

MAC x Stranger Things Eyeshadow

Surely I’m not the only one who loves a visit to Hawkins, Indiana with the Stranger Things crew. MAC Cosmetics voiced their allegiance as well with a collaboration that celebrated season 4!

I picked up several things (including a lip glass and a face brush) but the one to find its way into my summer 2022 makeup favorites is the 1986-inspired eyeshadow palette. I confess, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve bought any MAC shadows and I forgot what a joy their formula is to work with. This eyeshadow palette in particular has such a nice mix of versatile everyday neutrals as well as cheerful pops of color that are super fun for the season.

L’Oreal Infallible Concealer

There are many truly excellent concealers that you can find in the drugstore and many I’ve discussed before here on Dreaminlace. My current favorite is L’Oreal’s Infallible concealer and wow does it give you a lot of coverage! This one is particularly great for summer because of how well its full coverage holds up through high heat and humidity. It’s also a waterproof formula that withstands time at the pool or even your natural sweat.

Tarte Tubing Mascara

Next up on my list of Summer 2022 makeup favorites is Tarte’s newest mascara! It’s been a minute since I’ve tried a new product from them but it has me officially back on the bandwagon.

Tarte’s Tartelette Tubing mascara has a vegan formula that encapsulates each and every lash while building volume that enhances the eyes with extended length. It’s also sweat-proof, smudge-proof and flake-proof. A new favorite I highly recommend!

Jaclyn Cosmetics Bronzer

Considering how much I love makeup I’m honestly surprised I haven’t tried anything from Jaclyn Cosmetics before. But when her new bronzer dropped on Ulta’s website I couldn’t resist snatching one up. The formula is outstanding! Smooth and easy to blend into the skin without any patchiness. It brings a very natural sun-kissed appearance that lasts ALL DAY LONG. I seriously cannot love this bronzer more.

Rare Beauty Blush in Hope

I’m so impressed by how beautifully the Selena Gomez x Rare Beauty blushes apply to the cheeks and my #1 go-to this summer is the nude mauve shade “Hope”. It has a radiant finish that’s natural and is so pigmented that just a couple little dabs go a LONG way.

Diorshow Brow Gel

EASY is what I’m after when it comes to a summer brow routine and it really doesn’t get any easier than Dior’s On Set brow gel. This is actually a reformulated version of an earlier favorite that’s now made with 96% natural ingredients. But the switch to being more eco-friendly didn’t impact the results at all. Highly pigmented formula that finishes off your brows in 1 minute flat.
