Take a look inside my Google Analytics and see the ten MOST popular blog posts of the year. That’s right, 2018 has almost come to an end and I’m celebrating the best of the best.
Hello there, dreamers! Hopefully you’re reading this curled up in fuzzy socks and leggings as I am right now. Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds is playing on the television and I’m about fifteen minutes away from making myself a piping hot cup of hot chocolate. (Trader Joe’s makes vegan marshmallows btw!!!)
2018 has truly been one heck of a year, hasn’t it? It may not have been the best year on the record books for many of us, but it definitely was a whirlwind without a dull moment to be had.
As we inch closer and closer to midnight on New Year’s Eve, I’m finding myself getting more and more excited for the clean slate that a new year promises. Here’s to a GREAT 2019!
Most Popular Blog Posts of 2018?
But before I start hitting the ground running on making next year my best year yet, I have been looking in the rear view mirror on the last twelve months. Part of that, of course, meant hopping into my Google Analytics to discover just what my most popular blog posts of the year actually were.
What I found actually made me chuckle. Dream in Lace originated as a space for me to discuss my love of fashion, but more and more it’s become a beauty HOT SPOT! In fact, only ONE fashion related post carved its way into the top ten…and that was a Ralph & Russo couture post so it’s more wanderlust than practical everyday styling anyway. (Unless you’ve got a hefty bank account and can afford to drop thousands of dollars on a garment. In which case, can I get a loan?)
As I sit questioning just why fashion is so “out” these days…I have to say, I’m pretty happy with the ten most popular blog posts on this list.
Each of these popular blog posts were a lot of fun to put together and were hopefully helpful to my readers. In every post I write, my goal is to be helpful in someway…whether it’s cluing you in on the latest at Paris Fashion Week or helping to spare you wasting money on makeup or skincare products that just aren’t up to snuff.

10. Elf Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette Review
In April I asked if a $12 eyeshadow palette from the drugstore could be any good and apparently LOTS of you were eager to find out!
9. Urban Decay Summer Beached Palette
One thing I say for sure about 2018? I’ve fallen in love with Urban Decay all over again. After sitting on the back-burner for a couple of years, I picked up this gorgeous Summer 2018 eyeshadow palette and it was a great reminder of how incredibly long-lasting their ALL of their products are.
8. Spring Drugstore Makeup Obsessions
In 2018, I had a lot of fun experimenting with new products from the aisles of Walgreens and CVS. When spring rolled around, I reported back to my lovely readers on the products I found that worked the BEST.
7. Neutrogena’s “Does It All” Hydro Boost Cleanser?
Maintaining a proper skincare routine is always a top priority of mine. But, when I saw Neutrogena claim a cleanser can clean, exfoliate AND moisturize all that the same time I was admittedly a bit of a skeptic. How did it measure up?
6. Ralph and Russo Spring 2018 Couture
Already my excitement for the next round of couture week is on the rise (c’mon January 2019!)…making me pretty darn happy to revisit this heavenly collection from Ralph and Russo. In this post, I take you backstage and on the runway of their latest couture unveiling in Paris.
5. Hourglass Targets the Brows
Early in the year, Hourglass set out to help everyone easily brush on their brows with the new Arch Brow product. It was my first time trying anything other than your standard ‘face’ products from the brand…and I had a lot of fun putting this to the test.
4. Rejecting the Dior Backstage Eyeshadow Palette
I’m a fan of Dior – both their makeup and their apparel. So when they released their modern “Backstage” collection I was all over Sephora trying to get my hands on it. In the end, I had a lot of difficulty both getting the product and making it work. So, naturally, I took to Dream in Lace to share with you all the TEA and I can’t believe how many of you were eager to sip it up.
3. A Powder Lipstick???
When Buxom contacted me about trying their new POWDER lipstick I thought surely I misunderstood. But, no…they in fact DID release a line of colorful powder that you wear as a…dun dun dun…lipstick. Forget blush or eyeshadow, this powder was meant for the lips and apparently I wasn’t the only one interested to find out how well it worked.
2. Inspiring Women’s Day Quotes
In honor of one of my favorite days of the year, I rounded up a list of ten great quotes from ten inspiring women. When Dream in Lace was then FLOODED with readers coming from Google on the subject, it warmed my heart to see so many other people out there looking to celebrate inspiring females with me. As such, you better believe I’ll be making this an annual tradition around here.
1. A Pump Rules Fan Putting Lala’s Lip Gloss to the Test
In general, 2018 was a year where I didn’t watch much television and have gotten far far behind on several of my favorite shows.
One show I absolutely DID NOT fall behind on? Vanderpump Rules. It’s easily my favorite reality show ever and when I learned Lala has her own cosmetics line…I obviously had to make a purchase. From January 16th on, this post stayed consistently as my #1 MOST read post of the month…every single month of 2018. That’s the power of reality TV!
