Oh my fellow dreamers, I don’t know about you but the winter weather sure is waging a war against my lips this year. Morning, noon and night I’ve been applying the ever-so-practical (but not so chic) Chapstick in hoes of keeping things comfortable hydrated.

While Chapstick does seem to do the trick, I find myself longing for a bit of color. Drying lipsticks, though? Forget about it. I know they say ‘beauty is pain’ but when it comes to chapped lips, I simply can’t bear it. #Wimp

Lucky for all of us, the Dior Beauty team is on the case! This winter, they’ve unveiled beautiful new Dior Addict Lip Glows to keep our lips moisturized all season long…with a pretty splash of color too boot.

After seeing these beauties pop up time and time again in magazines and Instagram ads, I simply couldn’t resist any longer. Hopping over to Nordstrom, I picked up two shades and am excited to share with you my thoughts!

Surviving Winter with Dior Lip Glow

Currently, I’m busily packing up for New York Fashion Week and the Dior Lip Glow lipsticks have earned themselves a rightful place in my beauty bag.

The Lip Glow collection includes 10 shades in a 3 different formulas: matte, glow and holographic.

The two shades I picked up are:

Holographic Pink: Traditional pink threaded with sparkle
Ultra-Pink Glow: A glossy Barbie pink

As always, the Dior Makeup team knocked it out of the park with the packaging. They created tubes of lipstick so beautiful you’ll find yourself wanting to display them on your vanity or whipping them out of your purse just for some fun and flare. Of course, beautiful packaging aside…we all know what counts is on the inside.

Are the Lip Glows Actually Moisturizing?

The Dior Lip Glow formula uses a concentrated mango butter to provide hydration for a claim of 24 hours. While I do think you’ll need to reapply them to get a full day of moisture out of the lip balms, I do find them to be quite moisturizing and very satisfying to wear on the lips.

When wearing the lip glows, I feel like my lips are getting a warm hug of moisture which is much appreciated against the winter weather.

A Shade for Each Skin Tone:

Another note on the formula, the Dior Makeup team designed the lip glows using ‘Color Reviver’ technology. What the heck does that mean? It means each lipstick will react with the unique chemistry of your lip to give you a natural flush of color, suited to each skin tone.

Finish and Coverage:

Coverage-wise, the Dior Lip Glow balms definitely step up to the plate more than I expected. While sheer, the coverage layers up very nicely for more vivid lips…or you can go with one layer for a beautiful wash of color that’s very flattering. The formula definitely packs more pigment than other lip balms I’ve tried and truly does have a ‘radiant’ effect.

Are the Lip Glows ‘Reviving’ As Claimed?

Part of the beauty of the Dior Lip Glow balms is that the claim that they can ‘revive’ your lips, which I took to mean they could take dried out lips and truly bring them back to life. When I first started using these, my lips weren’t ‘chapped’ per say but definitely felt like they were toe-ing the line. After a couple days of using the Lip Glow lippies, I noticed a definite improvement. Of course, I was using my usual Chapstick at bed time but wearing these throughout the day seems to actually….WORK at combating chapped lips.

Lucky for us all, Dior Makeup is pretty readily accessible these days. I picked these up from Nordstrom simply because I LOVE Nordstrom, but they’re also available at Sephora, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Dior.com itself.

I’m Smitten!

Truly, I’m starting to think there’s not a single Dior Makeup product that I don’t love. Their foundations, their mascaras…eyeshadows…lip products, all phenomenal. Dior truly is raising the bar in the beauty community by delivering makeup and skincare products that are yes, luxurious…but also brilliant and well worth the extra dollar.
