Happy Friday, dreamers…and welcome to May! It’s scary how quickly 2015 is flying by, but it does excite me to be inching towards summer. April was a pretty good month for me, thank GOD! On the life front things were good, and at work I managed to get a lot done. It’s great to enter a new month with that sense of accomplishment, isn’t it?
As far as my face goes – my makeup welcomed the addition of pinks and dewy bases with open arms this month. My April Makeup Favorites list is quite refined and brief, but loaded with true makeup obsessions! Spring makeup, guys. It’s the best!
City Color Matte Blush
I’ve been unsubscribed from Ipsy for a while now, yet I still vouch for them when it comes to discovering great, affordable makeup. I received this in a bag maybe a year ago, and it’s perkiest shade for springtime. For a $5 blush, you wouldn’t expect this to be particularly long-lasting, but I swear…this stays on your face ALL day! It’s a miracle.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner
A downside to trying and loving new eyeliners is that my standard favorites go a bit forgotten. In April, though, I really fell in love all over again with Stila’s Stay All Day liquid eyeliner. I think I’ve had this for about a year – and the felt pen is still loaded with product and builds up easily! Oh Stila, be still my heart!
Estee Lauder Shimmer Lip Gloss in ‘Orchid Passion’
This came in a past ‘Gift with Purchase’ (which Nordstrom currently has an offer on), and became a real fixture in my springtime makeup. I love the berry undertones with the pink, and how shimmering this is on the lips without being distracting. Also, where the long-lasting lip lacquers from Estee Lauder can be quite sticky –this is nice and smooth. Gorgeous!
Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation
An oldie, but still a goodie! In April I reignited my love affair with Lancome’s Teint Miracle foundation. It’s gorgeous for this time of year, giving your skin a slight dewiness with a lot of glow. It’s such an easy, everyday foundation that I think I could apply in my sleep. It’s such a foolproof beauty product that everyone should try!
Dior Travel Eye Shadow
Unfortunately, I could only find this on eBay – but boy do I love it. I received this as a Bonus with the AMAZING Dior Overcurl Iconic mascara. The dark brown you see there? My new favorite eyebrow product. That’s right. I’ve kicked my pencils to the curb in favor of eyeshadow with a MAC 266 brush and that is beautiful for a dramatic brow. I also use a small eye brush to highlight the brow bone or inner eye corners. Basically, these little travel palette from Dior is my favorite little friend!
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lipstick in ‘Ballerina’
Another rediscovered love affair was Bobbi Brown’s Ballerina shimmer lipstick. This lipstick we relegated my handbag lipstick, making this an everyday favorite all month long. I love how easily you can whip this on, assured that you’re looking fresh and pretty. No matter what’s going on with my eye makeup and cheeks, I find that this fits in perfectly. Love, love, love!
