Fairy tales do exist! Go backstage and on the runway of the dazzling Ralph and Russo Spring 2018 couture show at Paris Fashion Week.
Silk organza, 3-dimensional flowers, tens of thousands of beads, metallic silk fringe, Swarovski crystals and pearls…
This is a short list of the many exquisite details that decorate the uber romantic Ralph and Russo Spring 2018 couture collection. No doubt, season after season creative directors Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo take the breath away from fashion lovers across the world (present company included) and their latest in couture is absolutely no exception.
Backstage at Ralph and Russo Spring 2018 Couture
Living in the year 2018, one might say we live in a world absent fairy tales.
Except, when you visit a Ralph and Russo couture collection…romance and decadence live on. The endless, talent, vision and heart that goes into each and every couture piece carries on a tradition of excellence that seems to be slipping through our fingertips with each passing year.
It’s the dedication to craftsmanship and fine art that keeps my love affair with Ralph and Russo couture going strong. The world of fast fashion and high street designs may offer more for your wallet, but what Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo bring to life is nothing short of masterful art.
On the Runway
On the runway, the Ralph and Russo Spring 2018 couture collection was a steady stream of glitz and glamour with luxe fabrics and shimmers. For the color palette, soft mint greens and blush tones are intermixed with vibrant red, fuschia and even chartreuse. As is the R&R signature, the silhouettes have a lot of movement. Floating organza, sashaying chiffon and dancing metallic fringe cascaded down the runway like a springtime parade.
Then, as the perfect cherry on top, comes a striking beauty looks that screams Valentine’s Day vibes to me at the moment. Fresh, dewy skin topped off with poppy red lips. It’s such an inviting makeup look I’m itching to try it out myself this week to offset the gray days of winter.
A Bridal Gown Fit for a Princess
Meghan Markle, take note. A team of 30 artisans worked more than 200 hours to bring the finale Ralph and Russo bridal gown to life!
With a draped bodice, the gown includes 3D Swarvoski leaves, 100,000 micro beads, 40,000 pearls and silk-threaded flowers. It’s tradition for the Ralph and Russo couture shows to close with a larger-than-life wedding gown, but I dare say the Spring 2018 collection outdoes the rest. Talk about a finale moment!
Aren’t You in Love?
The Ralph and Russo Spring 2018 collection truly sets the bar. Couture week was overflowing with beautiful designs, but the craftsmanship and luxe details of this collection are truly in a league of their own.
I highly, highly suggest you head over to the Ralph & Russo website where you can watch the runway video. Obviously the designs are striking in still photos, but when you watch them in motion your mouth might start gaping open.
Thank you to the Ralph & Russo press team for providing these gorgeous images from backstage and on the runway. Truly breathtaking!
