The Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette was my most anticipated release of 2019! Does it live up to those high expectations?
Hello there, my beautiful dreamers! I’m very excited about today’s post because it’s a review of Glam Life Guru’s makeup line!!
After watching Tati Westbrook on YouTube for over six years, I was just dying for her to release a line of her own. She has been and continues to be the only “beauty guru” on YouTube that I whole heartedly trust. She’s honest. Informative. And admittedly picky. So if Tati says it’s good, you gosh darn well know it’s going to be GOOD!
Add to that the fact that Tati Beauty launched with neutral eyeshadow palette as its first product and I was sold. If you’ve been around Dream in Lace before, you may know that I well and truly have a weakness for eyeshadow. Do I need any more in my collection? Definitely not. Did I jump on buying the palette from Tati the second it drops? You betcha!
Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette
And that’s where this post begins. The palette dropped on Friday, October 25th at 1 pm EST and I was READY the moment it went live. This was actually my first time ever ordering an “influencer” product, let alone right at launch, and I was stoked.
After such a long wait, I fully believed the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Eyeshadow palette would be phenomenal. Tati in general doesn’t seem the type to waste time with product that’s anything short of perfect…so I had high expectations for this beauty!
Down below, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about this new palette on the market and if it’s worth adding to your collection.

Let’s Review the Palette Layout
For starters, let’s discuss how the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette is laid out. As the title suggests, there are varying textures tucked inside — including:
Meet the 6 Color Sequences
Rather than name each individual shade, the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette takes a new approach. Each color sequence is given a title with a shade available in each of the four finishes. (That makes for an impressive count of 24 shadows!!)
The shade selections are:
- Memory: Smokey grays
- Ritual: Brown
- Story: Oranges
- Soothe: Camel Browns
- Aura: Smooth creams
- Poet: Burgundy
A Story-Based Concept
For the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette, Tati introduces us to the overarching concept for her brand: story telling.
As someone who believes that makeup is a great way to express yourself and communicate your story to the world, I personally am a big fan of this approach and look forward to seeing how the brand’s story unfolds in the future. This palette in particular is dubbed “Volume 1” and the releases will continue in a series from that point.
Vegan and Cruelty-Free Formula
Animal lovers rejoice, because the palette is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. It’s also made right here in the United States so you don’t need to worry at all about China’s pro animal testing stance.
Currently Available at TatiBeauty.com for $48
As of right now, the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette is only available on the brand’s website. It’s priced at $48 which is definitely not cheap, but is also very reasonable for the amount of product you get within the palette. Both PayPal and After Pay are also available for customers.
Now — let’s dive into some swatches so you can get a much closer look at the shadows:
Rich and Even Pigmentation
As I fully expected, the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals palette is PIGMENTED.
Tati definitely wasn’t playing around and as someone who is a stickler for even texture — she also hit the ball out of the park where that’s concerned. The shades are consistent across the board, meaning you won’t find an odd one here or there that doesn’t perform as well.
Consistency is probably the one quality issue you see brands struggle with on the market, so for Tati Westbrook to nail it on her very first product launch? Bravo!!
All-Day Wear Time
Here’s where I’m a stickler with eyeshadow: wear time. Well, I’m happy to report that Tati’s shadows last ALL DAY LONG – even without a primer. I honestly think this formula is bullet-proof.
Soft, Buttery Mattes with Coconut Oil
Both the Matte and the Sequin (matte threaded with glitter) finishes are formulated with coconut so they are incredibly smooth when applied on the skin. The buttery consistency also helps the shadows apply evenly without no patchiness.
Easy Blending, Even for Beginners
One thing I notice with a lot of “Influencer” makeup launches is that the palettes seem geared more towards someone with a bit of expertise on applying makeup.
The Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette, however, includes a very user friendly formula that everyone can excel with — including beginners. So if you’re new to the makeup scene, I think you’ll be pleased with how easy the palette is to use. The shadows all blend like a dream, no fancy skills or pricy brushes required.
Best Glitter Eyeshadow I’ve Ever Used
I also want to celebrate how fabulous the glitter textured shadows are. Glitter eyeshadow has always been great in theory, but not in practice where I’m concerned. It can be dry and flakey — but Tati’s formula has a gel consistency that is incredibly soft and applies smoothly across your lids.
Iffy Customer Service Experience
Now if you’re thinking to yourself ya, ya — she’s raving about everything – I did want to share a little hiccup I ran into when ordering the palette right when it launched from Tati Beauty.
I ordered the palette at 1 pm EST on Friday, October 25 with expedited shipping. Come Monday morning, I still hadn’t received a confirmation email or shipping notice. I actually was so worried my order got lost that I went ahead and *pre-ordered* my second palette.
What bothered me about the customer service in particular was that the palette dropped on a Friday and then their customer service office was closed on Saturday and Sunday.
On any other occasion, I would perfectly understand not being available to assist customers over the weekend but to be closed for two days the very next day after launching a product? That was a poor decision in my book. That’s when your customers’ interest is peaked so if they do run into any issues or have any questions about their order, it raises frustrations when their questions go unanswered.
I ended up having conversation with several other folks in the same boat as me on social media. We all were incredibly excited for Tati and understanding that launches are bound to have hiccups here and there, but were confused by the lack of communication from customer service.
That said, by the end of the day Monday I did make contact with a member of the customer service team and they were able to verify my order and send me a shipping notification no problem.
My suggestion for the future would be to have customer service staff on hand to answer any questions in the days immediately following a launch.
