Go backstage and on the runway of the Ermanno Scervino Spring 2020 collection debut in Milan as the fashion house prepares to celebrates twenty years.
Hello, there! As Fashion Month rolls into Paris Fashion Week today, I have to redirect your attention to Milan for just a moment to recognize the Ermanno Scervino Spring 2020 collection.
The Italian fashion house was founded by entrepreneur Toni Scervino and designer Ermanno Daelli in 2000 and is preparing to celebrate their 20th anniversary next year. Since the very beginning, the brand has strongly believed in the “Made in Italy” label and sought to produce styles that blend femininity with masculine tailoring in a modern and inviting way.
The Ermanno Scervino Spring 2020 Collection
The Ermanno Scervino Spring 2020 collection in particular was calm, cool and collected — with delicious sparkly details. It was a well versed collection that satisfied all my sartorial cravings, from pretty party dresses to sleek tailored suiting, polka dots and even a floral palm print. There was so much good happening in this collection that I wanted to leap through Instagram and make off with it all!
Throughout their twenty year history, underwear as daywear has become a signature of Ermanno Scervino. Season after season, neglige slip dresses and nightgowns are a hallmark design for the label’s daywear. And if I’m being honest, they make me think living and working in my pajamas is a rather doable endeavor.
For the Ermanno Scervino Spring 2020 in particular, Daelli adopted an animal print for slip dresses that’s quite energizing as well as polka dots. Delivering a fresh take on suiting, he also turned pinstripe pajamas into tailored jackets, shorts and pants. This approach to menswear is so sharp, in fact, that I find myself itching to slice up my own PJs in a high fashion DIY project straight away. (Shame I’m desperately lacking in tailoring skills, however, and should probably leave that to the professionals.)
