The Victoria Hayes Spring 2020 collection charged the runway and took New York Fashion Week by storm. This is the shakeup NYFW needs!
I swear. I’ve had it with scheduling conflicts and getting in the way of attending a Victoria Hayes show. It’s been such an honor to be invited to a couple of her shows now and I’m determined to make it next season. I mean, wow. It’s been incredible watching Victoria Hayes rise in the fashion industry over the past couple years and her Spring 2020 runway show at New York Fashion Week officially seals the deal for me. She is THE designer to watch.
If you’re not familiar with Victoria Hayes, she’s a a Toronto raised designer who is fast on the rise. She’s a visionary and delivers sleek, cunning designs with veracity and has dressed the likes of Lady Gaga (my queen), Cardi B, Shirley Manson (another one of my queens) and Ariana Grande.
Now is definitely the time to get her on your radar because you’re definitely going to be seeing a lot more from Victoria – especially now that she’s made her New York Fashion Week debut.
The Victoria Hayes Spring 2020 Collection Storms NYFW
To say the Victoria Hayes Spring 2020 collection kicked off New York Fashion Week this season with a BANG would be an understatement. The 44-look runway show set a tone right out the gate that no one was quite able to match in the following days. And that’s pretty remarkable stuff for a newcomer like Hayes, who was making her NYC runway debut.
We all know New York Fashion Week has been struggling over the last few years. Several big names hopped over the pond to Paris while others, see Zac Posen and Rag & Bone, are opting out of runway shows altogether. Old standbys such as Michael Kors have become stale and the energy surrounding the entire event has fallen flat.
I’ve been saying for a while now that NYFW is in desperate need of a major shakeup and I do believe Victoria Hayes is up to the task.
Inspired by Space Jam and the rampant 90’s nostalgia we all seem to be having these days, Victoria’s Spring 2020 collection was full of energy and attitude. It was also a rather diverse collection, with cocktail dresses offset by tracksuits and then colorful suiting in between. Loud prints and energetic pops of yellow were balanced by classic black and a moonstone pantsuit that I believe can only be described as ?? swooped in at the last minute to make my heart melt.
The collection was full of life and I breathed new life into the struggling NYFW circuit.
Are you as in love as me? I hope so!
In addition to the striking Victoria Hayes Spring 2020 Collection, I want to give you a bit of a closer look at the show’s hair and makeup. More specifically? The eyeliner.
More and more I see artful eyeliner designs popping up on the runway and it’s something I think we should all consider playing around with. It brings such a fresh, urban look that perfectly compliments Victoria’s stylish designs.
I for one know I’m guilty of doing the same ole same ole every day with my eyeliner. Thin straight line across the upper lash line and done. It’s something I do so effortlessly and without thinking that I truly believe I could do it in my sleep. This makeup look, though, makes me think I should consider branching out of the status quo.
