From an old standby Marc Jacobs Beauty foundation to the perfect matte lipstick, these are the early fall beauty favorites I can’t stop wearing this season!

Hello there and welcome to fall! Despite the temperatures not really feeling like it, fall has officially arrived and I for one am STOKED! I’m so excited to break out the boots, throw up all my fall decor, marathon scary movies in preparation for Halloween, indulge in my favorite pumpkin bread and wear all the burgundy and brown tones!
Early Fall Beauty Favorites
Kicking off the fall season, I rounded up all the bits I’ve been using around the clock from my vanity and snapped off some pictures to share with you.
In terms of my early fall beauty favorites, I’ve been enjoying what I already had in most cases. “Shopping my stash” I’ve fallen in love all over again with products that had leapt to the back-burner. I’ve also had a lot of fun getting back into lipstick…more specifically? MATTE lipstick! I’ve been so into shiny lips lately that it’s been a lot of fun remembering just how wowza a good matte lip can be.
There are a couple newbies on this list, though! One is a nail polish from OPI’s recent Scotland collection. I’ve been so into Essie and Sally Hansen polishes of late, that I’d completely forgotten just how long-wearing OPI polishes are. They truly last and last! In addition to that, I also have a new skincare discovery I think you’ll love! (Particularly if you’re a fan of The Ordinary products.)
So curl up, relax and meet my early fall beauty favorites – below!
With more and more new foundations hitting the market and demanding our attention, it’s easy to forget the old standbys. One day in August I picked this up on a whim and have totally fallen in love with the formula all over again. It’s full coverage, but surprisingly lightweight. It’s also a ride or die foundation that can carry you through the thick of the summer heat and humidity without fail – which is why it definitely lands on my list of early fall beauty favorites given just how hot it still is outside.
A few weeks ago I shared this post about my love for the newest foundation and concealer from Revlon. Truth, is I love the concealer SO much that I’ve taken to wearing it oh…seven days a week. That’s right, even on the weekends when I can’t be fussed to apply foundation I catch myself applying a dab of this here and there just for my own satisfaction. The concealer is ultra creamy and has fantastic coverage.
It’s not very often that I bother talking about a nail polish in these parts, but I had to include the “You’ve Got that Glas-Glow” OPI on my list of early fall beauty favorites because of what a fantastic transitional shade it is. Given that it’s still in the 80s in the midwest, I’m not fully ready to drive into deep burgundy or plum tones for fall. This shade is from their new Scotland collection and is an everyday mauve. It’s perfect for moving you into the traditional autumnal shades without feeling out-of-place during the extended summer weather we’re having. This nail polish also happens to be quite long lasting! It definitely doesn’t chip easily, which is a godsend in my book.
I already discussed my love of the Tarte’s standard Sex Kitten eyeliner in this underrated makeup post and I’m happy to report the liquid version is also pretty fantastic! When I ran out of my beloved Lorac liquid eyeliner I started reaching for this in its place and I quite like it. It’s a jet black, matte liner that doesn’t fade in the slightest till you take it off at the end of the day. I know eyeliner in general is kind of a boring thing to talk about, but when it works – it works. And I’m actually really happy to discover this as it can be tricky to find Lorac and my Ulta seems to be out of their liner about 90 percent of the time. Always a good thing to have a solid backup option!
I go in waves with mascara. Usually I have two in rotation that I alternate back and forth between before they dry out or finish up. And while I’ve loved the Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara in the past — I’ve admittedly kind of forgotten about it while trying other products out. Lately, though? I’m back on the wagon! I love how this mascara isn’t waterproof yet can carry me through a water aerobics class and hold a curl ALL day long. It also does a nice job of separating your lashes, delivering a fluttery look that’s quite lovely and doll-like.
Whenever I visit Riley Rose, I never know what I’m going to find. They stock so many unique brands and products that I feel like I’m on a bit of a treasure hunt whenever I pop in. In July, I picked up this retinol and Vitamin A oil and have been using it pretty much nonstop lately. We all know the anti-aging benefits of using a Retinol oil but I was happy to discover one that includes Vitamin A as well. Vitamin A helps smooth wrinkles, encourages skin cell production and combats UV damage. I had never heard of Morgan Miller’s products before so this was a pretty great discovery!! It’s also very affordable.
Now that we find ourselves in fall, I’m setting all my lip glosses and shiny lipsticks aside to embrace matte formulas once again. And given that Charlotte Tilbury’s matte revolution lipsticks have one of my favorite formulas of all time, it’s no surprise one landed on my list of early fall beauty favorites. The shade I’m currently in love with is “Love Liberty”. It’s the perfect deep burgundy and has a solid matte finish, that’s also surprisingly creamy and comfortable to wear. It also lasts ages!!
I’ll be honest, liquid lipstick and I haven’t gotten along very well up to this point. It’s tricky to get that long-wearing and comfortable balance just right, but our friends at Lime Crime have that trick figured out! The shade Lavender Honey is that perfect ‘your lips but better’ shade and goes with literally everything. I keep this bad boy stashed in my purse so I have a lipstick that’s ready to rise to the occasion no matter what I’m wearing.
And that’s a wrap on my current early fall beauty favorites! I do think I’m going to a follow-up post to this one on a fall makeup look, so if you have any specific requests for what kind of thing you’d like to see…lemme know! I’m always interested in your feedback. x
