Pamella Roland invited us to the Chelsea Piers for New York Fashion Week – delivering a classic romance for spring.
On a very hot and humid day in New York, Pamella Roland hosted guests at a chill and scenic venue on the Chelsea Piers to unveil her Spring/Summer 2017 collection. In true Rolland style, the collection featured an assortment of elegant evening gowns and classic day-wear pieces that could easily take you from the office to after-work drinks.
The evening show was a welcomed breath of fresh air after a long day scurrying around the city and was a relaxing reminder of Pamella Roland’s timeless strength as a designer. As always, I appreciated watching people before the show – here’s a shot of the ladies who sat opposite me, including a Blair Waldorf look alike on the far left (below).
Also in attendance was Nigel Baker, who was SUCH a joy to observe as he visually critiqued models walks and questioned minor details. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s a total dish to look at…but, back to the clothes.
Despite the above model’s overwhelming lack of enthusiasm (shame, the gown is simply stunning), Pamella Roland presented a beautiful collection that drew inspiration from the Italian cliff-side village Positano.
Inspired by endless sunsets and shorelines, Pamella drew from the scenery and treasures of Positano in designing streamlined and flowing silhouettes that featured a seascape palette, swirling pearls and ombre chiffon that romantically waved behind models as they strolled down the runway.
A sidenote from the fashion, I really enjoyed the beauty look makeup artist Rick DiCecca created for the show. It a has an understated radiance to it – that feels fresh for spring and fit in perfectly with the scorching 95 degree temperatures outside.
Of course, after the show’s conclusion I simply couldn’t leave without taking in the breathtaking views and sipping on a cocktail on the deck. It was a true highlight of my NYFW experience thus far and I’m so appreciative to Pamella Roland’s team for inviting me along for such a peaceful and relaxing evening at an exquisite location.
Here are are few more of my favorite looks from Pamella Roland’s runway this season. Will we see these pop up on a red carpet soon?
