Misha Collection storms New York Fashion Week – bringing mass sex appeal for Spring.
As soon as a chic lady walked in with an adorable child, I knew Misha Collection‘s Spring/Summer 2017 show was going to bring great things. Then I had the pleasure of sitting opposite said mom, waving at her adorable child until the lights dimmed and Jourdan Dunn opened Misha Collection’s SS17 runway show. I repeat, Jourdan Dunn. The very Jourdan Dunn that makes me curse my bone structure, want to crop my hair and work diligently at cultivating a walk that’s “fierce” and not…well, not fierce. (*queue me tripping over nothing*)
From there, it was glorious. Pulling inspiration from the days of Studio 54, the collection features an array of textures, prints, and color. From vivid reds to vixen-approved leopard, the designs just beg to be paired with your finest dancing shoes for a night on out the town.
For those who might not yet be familiar with Misha Collection, fret not. The brand was founded in 2013 by designer Michelle Aznavorian and is quickly on the rise. Misha Collection embraces a sophisticated opulence that is catching on with popular retailers like Nordstrom, ShopBop and Revolve – as well her more than 50 boutique stores.
It’s exciting brands on the move like Misha Collection that make New York Fashion Week particularly exciting for me and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend Friday’s show in Chelsea to take it all in. With a chilled sparkling water I took to my seat, excited – but also not quite sure what to expect. The collection definitely opened my eyes to Michelle Aznavorian’s emerging talent.
I really loved Misha Collection’s full Spring/Summer 2017 show – with its sexy catsuits, slinky cocktail dresses and reinvented tuxedo dresses – but I managed to narrow down my top favorites for your review. Jourdan? Kick things off!
Perhaps my favorite look of them all is the above gold firecracker of a cocktail dress that seems fit for one seriously epic midnight kiss on New Year’s Eve. Or, your typical night out dancing on tables. Whichever.
Have a few extra minutes? Definitely check out the full Misha Collection runway video and prepare to swoon!
