Wow, I cannot believe how quickly May flew by! Once the sun comes out and the weather goes warmer, time moves at warped speed. Then, the bitter cold and gray months of winter inch on by.
Beauty wise, this month I was basically into rediscovering old favorites and trying to use products up that I already had. So, I really haven’t discovered much new this month….bringing me to only 5 monthly favorites. But each of these are products I reached for time and time all through May. You could say I was a tad obsessed with them, if I’m being honest.
So here goes, my May Beauty Favorites:
Essie : E-Nuf is E-Nuf
It took me a minute, or several, to warm up to Essie Nail Polishes. I don’t think the formula is as long-lasting as my beloved OPI polishes. But, they do have some gorgeous colors. I don’t know why I’m so drawn to Pinky-Reds but every spring/summer I go buck wild for them.
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine : #6 Pink in Devotion
Oh another season, another YSL lipstick steals my heart. What do you know? Am I obsessed? Yes, I’m obsessed. This is like the sheer/glossy version of MAC’s Girl About Town, which is an all-time favorite of mine. I’ve definitely worn this more days than I have not. I keep it in my purse and it’s the most lovely thing to reach for on-the-go for some pop of color.
Marc Jacobs Highliner Eye Gel : Lunatic
I wrote a full review (here) of this, and the love only continues. I think this product is just so gorgeous for this time of year. It livens up your eyes for day or night. Quite a versatile product!
It’s that time of year when moisturizer-primer-foundation as a trio horrifies me. I live in such a humid climate, you’d swear I am in a rain forest. So, clogging up my face with products is at the very bottom of my list – making BB Creams an absolute essential. I love this one because it gives more of a solid finish than a sheer one. Yet, it’s not heavy. It’s definitely more than a tinted moisturizer. As well, the texture is almost gel like, which is also nice. To boot, the SPF is 45 which is a-okay by me!
Physician’s Formula : Organic Wear Mascara
This has been on my list to try for a while after hearing repeated great things about it. Low and behold, I finally picked it up…and it’s LOVE! Definitely a fantastic product that never clumps or gets funky. You can build it up for a wow look. Or, wear it more subtly for a natural look. Love it!
What products were you loving in the month of May? Especially, let me know if there’s any great nail polishes I should pick up. I recently looked at my nail polish collection…and even though I just went threw it a few months back SO MANY of the polishes have somehow gone bad. So throw out some good ones I need to pick up so I can replenish my stock!
