I have to say, Gucci‘s Spring 2015 Collection wasn’t quite what I expected. Then again, if you asked I’d have no idea what to tell you I expected so maybe I’m being too critical. Don’t get me wrong, I do love it – it just felt VERY Versace Fall 2014 to me (here), which was a really odd decision. Obviously the world of fashion knows what Versace is doing, so to emulate that – even down to the denim – the very next season seems like a very odd choice.
One cool thing I loved was the use of orange. Typically Fall is the season that owns orange, but with the orange lip trend blowing up – it’s interesting to see it make a statement for spring in the clothing department (and not just on the lips!). That said, paired with purple it does look very autumnal….
(Is there anything about this collection that didn’t feel weird to me? I don’t know…)
I mean, we’re all in agreement this is pretty, right? Because, it is. I love the native vibe of the collection. It feels very natural, and at times primal. But then I remember that even though we are currently entering the season of Fall, this is supposed to be a vision of spring – and then, it starts feel a bit out of place.
Regardless, the shoes are great. And really, aren’t shoes have the battle?
It IS Milan Fashion Week though *throws confetti* I am beyond thrilled! It’s my favorite of all the fashion weeks, and I literally look forward to it like a freak. There’s something about the drama and sex appeal of Milan Fashion Week that just gets me. Plus with big names like Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Moschino, etc. there’s obviously A LOT to look forward to. So, even though we may be off to a bumpy start there is a lot of goodness to come! If you have favorites you’d like to see me cover, let me know! I’m always happy to oblige.

If this was a Fall collection I’d be singing a different tune. THen again, it is near exactly what Versace did last fall so it would still feel uninspired to me. xoxo
