Alberta Ferretti certainly did not disappoint for the Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear Collection, shown at MILAN Fashion Week. Yes, Milan Fashion Week is finally here! I feel like all through New York and London Fashion Week I was pulling a Kanye West all, “Hey New York Fashion Week, I’mma let you finish girl but I just want to say Milan Fashion Week is the best fashion week of all time!”
Seriously, how rude could I get? 😉
Anyway – it’s finally here and Day 1 presented a gorgeous Alberta Ferretti for spring. It had a cool blend of breezy spring looks, with western influences. Definitely a cool, semi-retro to the 70’s collection.
And in case we were wondering just what the heck Marchesa (here) was trying to do at Spring 2015, but horribly failing at…here we see the sultry garden princess look done well. (And not completely frilly and disgusting.)
I seriously feel so wishy washy with the way I flop sides constantly this Spring 2015 season. I’m wowed by collections that don’t do the standard soft looks for spring. Then, I’m wowed by the collections that do. I guess you could say I’m pretty easy to please? Or maybe it’s just a reflection of how much designers are really bringing it this season – with each and every approach to soft spring attire killing it along the way.
I do think in general, soft lines with rougher elements come off well. Such as, a whispy floral gown worn with fringe leather sandals with strings that lace up the leg. It adds a festival and bohemian vibe to an otherwise romantic look. To me, the best style happens when you bring various elements together to create something unique. Going all one-way or another just doesn’t have the same pizazz!
