Guys, I am SO excited about the current state of Balenciaga. Alexander Wang has come in and done some really great things with this brand! It’s that perfect blend of futuristic sophistication Wang does so well, with the more traditional chic-ness of Balenciaga. And it’s SO COOL. Literally, so cool! Balenciaga I feel is going to be sky-rocketing from here on out. So get your popcorn, and get ready – because the cool train is here to stay.
At Paris Fashion Week, Balenciaga brought back the Matrix. Remember those movies? Is Keanu Reeves still acting? These are questions I must immediately answer on Google….and I’m back. The answer? Yes, he is..but not in anything that rings a bell whatsoever. But that’s honestly so beyond the point I don’t know why I’m even going there.
Back to the Matrix-like Spring 2015 Collection from Balenciaga:
Honestly, I think this collection goes where Chanel Spring 2014 Couture (here) TRIED to go. Only, somehow Lagerfeld landed on Neptune while Balenciaga remains on planet Earth, just planet Earth in the year 4056.
Wang has a thing for 3-Dimensional design and the Balenciaga Spring 2015 Collection is certainly no exception. It’s basically 100% aerodynamic! Yes, I know it sounds like I’m talking about a car – but you know what I mean. Not to mention, rather than the blinged out Birkenstock and sneaker we’ve seen on basically EVERY other spring runway, Wang invents a new form of footwear. Shoes that would definitely suit Jesus should he be walking around in year 4056 after all. They’re a mishmash of moccasin/slipper/sandal and look completely comfortable. You know, because comfy feet IS essential!
Yes. I am indeed excited about the future prospects of Balenciaga. And I needed this jolt of excitement to boost my enthusiasm on a mid-week slump. It’s been a rough few days and this is like the CPR to wake me up for the remaining days of fashion month! *fist pump*
Oh Alexander Wang, you are a gift to us all. Well, maybe not when it comes to your H&M collection. #Unflattering #JustSaying (Case in point: Riri)
On THAT note, I’m off to soak away in a bubble bath and dream of what life would be like in 4056. (Do you think we’ll finally have flying cars by then?) Everyone continue to have an awesome week and come back for more Paris Fashion Week coverage daily! Love you lots.
