Hello there, dreamers! My oohing and ahh-ing over haute couture week continues today with a tribute to the legendary Georges Hobeika.

If you’re a routine admirer of haute couture, you are no stranger to his great talent. His designs have been dazzling the runways of Paris Haute Couture Week for years and the Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 couture collection lives up to his legacy of exquisite craftsmanship. Shocker as it may be, when I dug through my personal archives – I noticed that I have not yet featured a Georges Hobeika collection on Dream in Lace, which is positively CRIMINAL.

And so, today I wanted to rectify that oversight and celebrate the latest and greatest couture collection from Georges Hobeika and all its glory!

A Little Background

Georges Hobeika got his start sketching designs for his mother’s atelier shop way back in the day in Beirut, Lebanon. Hungry for design, he traveled to Paris during the Lebanese War with his eyes set on fashion. In Paris, he interned in the classic house of Chanel before returning home and launching his own Beirut-based atelier in 2001. Since 2001, his otherworldly designs have been celebrated by fashion lovers around the world.

In addition to his haute couture creations, Georges has established three ready-to-wear lines, including Georges Hobeika Bridal, Georges Hobeika Signature and the modern GH by Georges Hobeika. In the near future, he looks to expand his talent into a new and somewhat unexpected arena: furniture. That’s right, soon enough you’ll be able to enjoy haute couture furniture designed by the very man himself.

Let’s Talk Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 Couture

Okay, now that you’re a little more familiar with the uber talented designer – I’m ready to gush over the Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 couture collection. You can no doubt see a slight influence from his Chanel past in the opening looks. The lines, color palette and intricate embroidering are positively exquisite and seem perfect for that fairy tale luncheon.

For his Fall 2017 collection, Georges sites inspiration from the ornamental architecture of Spanish palaces. Because, obviously. An ivory palette gives way to rich, vibrant reds and decadent plums – all with ornate detailing, literally from head to toe. Elaborate capes, footwear fit for a queen and a plush amount of sequins decorate a collection that seems destine for royalty.

Overwhelming Beauty

There’s no denying, the Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 Couture collection is next level fabulous.

It’s collections like these that make me second guess everything in my closest and dream of running away with a prince. The beauty of haute couture is one of the few remaining fairy tales of the world and Georges Hobeika instills a standard of excellence that is unwavering.

Truly, each and every one of these designs is a walking piece of art and I’m green with envy for the lovely ladies who are fortunate enough to wear them. Don’t know about you, but I’m suddenly calculating ways to become a modern day princess. Why not, right?
