Bonjour, dreamers! With just one day left of Paris Fashion Week, Valentino took to the runway to present a killer Spring/Summer 2016 Collection. I mean, as if there was any doubt – but, co-creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are the true power duo to end all power duos.
If you’re wondering if doting on Valentino’s latest collection will be a new seasonal trend, it just might be!
After last season’s surprise runway appearance from Ben Still and Owen Wilson, who were happily announcing the pending release of Zoolander 2 (here), Valentino kept their Parisian runway absent of A-list celebs this week. In their place? A 90+ look Spring/Summer 2016 Collection stock-full of stunning Bohemian looks. As I sit here, sipping on a glass of Cabernet, I think back on the direction of one of fashion’s biggest houses over the past few seasons, and it’s fascinating the way Churui and Piccioli have woven a tale that honors Valentino’s signature ladylike romance, while introducing edgier characters like leather, fringe and even the occasional studded detailing.
Today’s Valentino is essentially: prim with spice. And, with a SS16 collection featuring a heavy palette of black and corn row wearing models – Valentino’s 90+ look show is deserving of very high marks.
Let’s kick back and swoon over 10 Valentino looks we’re practically guaranteed to see on the red carpet soon!
Essentially, Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection is the perfect blend of romance and sex appeal – and is sure to garner a lot of red carpet and editorial coverage in the coming months. Dream team Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are paving the future for the Valentino woman, whose defined as both prim and fierce. What more could the modern woman want? 😉
