Meet Patricia Batatas of Peexo, style blogger and YouTuber to watch!
Welcome to the return of a series that fell off my radar but is back: blogger spotlight! One of the most exciting and wonderful things the internet-mad world we live in is that fashionable and creative ladies are able to cultivate their own special corner of the web to grow and inspire. Personal style has truly never been more fun!
And when it comes to personal style, I immediately think of Patricia Batatas, the darling behind the style blog and growing YouTube channel Peexo. Patricia is a London-based gal with a serious knack for pulling together classic pieces in fresh, contemporary looks. She’s also an absolute stunner and I think more than a little is Kendall Jenner’s clone (except more appealing with her bubbling personality and charming accent).
I reached out to Patricia to give Dream in Lace the inside scoop on her fashionable adventures. She’s a hardworking gal that is always on the go-go-go, publishing killer style posts and regular content on YouTube for Peexo. With a busy schedule that takes her from London to Paris, I simply had to ask the age old question: how do you do it all?
Here’s an inside look into the effortlessly chic world of Patricia and Peexo!
1. Patricia, you launched Peexo in 2014 and since it continues to grow, grow grow! Where do you see your blog and YouTube channel going over the next couple of years?
Oh thank you! That really means a lot to me, I’m hoping it will continue to grow – I continuously strive to produce more and better content so I hope that in the future I’ll be able to share even more content across social channels – I believe that hard work pays off. However, I am aware that YouTube is competitive and can be a ruthless industry; I am thankful for the growth I’ve had already, but I know that could decline at any time. I am aware that some YouTubers use the information on https://buyoutubeviews.com/buy-youtube-views to purchase views for their channel when they face a decline. I’m not sure if this is something I’d do, but it’s definitely something to consider if my luck runs out.
2. You are a bad ass when it comes to pushing out frequent new content. How do you manage your schedule and stay inspired to publish regular blog posts and two YouTube videos a week?
Two YouTube videos is a new thing for me, I’ve just started that this month and I think it’s going to be a difficult task but that’s why I’ve decided to set myself the challenge over the summer as I’ll have more free time to work on creating content. With my blog it happened gradually, I started posting twice a week and then up to three times until finally I decided I was going to post every weekday. I struggle with it at times and at first I used to find it hard to miss a day but now I’m much more lenient as sometimes life does get in the way. Nonetheless it’s something I truly enjoy so I never struggle with ideas, when you do what you love it’s hard to stop.
3. I love how effortless your personal style is and the way your photo shoots come together with such ease. What’s one key piece of advice for being able to throw together a look in a snap?
Wear what you’re comfortable in. I step out of my comfort zone a lot thanks to my blog but when it comes to my fail-safe day-to-day outfits it’s jeans and a T-shirt, always (you can tell from my Instagram haha!)
4. Peexo has a primary focus on fashion, but you do occasionally bring beauty in as well. If you had time for only one piece of makeup, what would you use?
Mascara, always!
5. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned from starting your personal style blog?
I’ve discovered styles I love, I’ve experimented with 70’s (one of my favourite trends), 60’s, flares, fringe, the lot! I’ve learned to accept things and be confident which I think is amazing. Believe it or not I would never wear heeled shoes, all my footwear used to be completely flat because I’m quite tall so I’d always end up feeling silly in anything with a heel but now I just don’t care and am constantly in block heeled boots! Other than styling, I have also learnt a lot about the world of blogging. One top tip that I would give to anyone would be to look into companies like HostiServer , as they can help you out with the advanced side of your website. When I first started, no one told me about needing a web host. I only discovered it was a necessity when my website wasn’t going live and I did a bit of research to find the solution. This was a massive lifesaver. Don’t just think blogging if just about posting, there’s more to it that you’re not always going to be told. So take it upon yourself to find out more. There’s always something new to learn daily.
6. And lastly, where are your favorite places to shop?
I have so many favourites, but if I had to break it down right now I’d choose ASOS and Missguided!
A big thank you to Patricia for answering my most burning questions. If you don’t follow her already, you seriously ought to. She’s a true style blogger to watch!
