Boohoo crowns me princess for a day! Meet their occasionwear line, perfect for styling your next wedding or romantic date outfit.
Welcome to my home…Ha! #Kidding
When Boohoo invited me to put on a tiara and model a piece from their stunning occasionwear line, I just knew I had to visit the beautiful grounds of a local Cathedral for the shoot. It’s the perfect backdrop for my princess moment, don’t you think? Hard to believe this is tucked away just a block from my 9-5 office, where I’m usually racing past it to and from in a hurry. If there’s one thing I think we can all do a better job at, it’s enjoying and appreciating the existing beauty around us. It truly was the perfect escape after a long day, stopping to take in such a gorgeous and peaceful setting.
Of course, it didn’t hurt matters that I had a sparkling tiara to help me dress up the occasion. Boohoo offered me my own ‘prom queen’ moment, including a hot pink sash with the words “Prom Queen” emblazoned on it – so, you know it’s official. While I’m certainly glad to have high school in my rear-view mirror, it is fun to play ‘dress up’ now and then. Queue the obligatory prom photo:
Whether you’re on the hunt for a prom dress or the perfect look for date night or a wedding, Boohoo has a terrific selection of dresses fit for every occasion. When it comes to Boohoo, I’ve always thought of them more for casual and Bohemian style – perfect for festival attire. This was a very welcomed reminder that they serve your entire wardrobe needs at such affordable prices, from day to night.
Being the “classic” girl that I am, I had to get my hands on this blush and black striped skater dress that I think will be so versatile and work for a number of occasions. It’s the type of dress that you can dress up or down and grab in a pinch. Since I did graduate high school long ago, I’m retiring as prom queen and prefer to think of my tiara as the perfect touch to a modern day Breakfast at Tiffany‘s “Holly Golightly” look.
Best part? The Boohoo Kate Monochrome Skater dress (here) is sleeveless, so it can be worn in all temperatures and seasons. The calendar reads May 19th today, but the weather was in the low sixties – making it the perfect occasion to throw this on over a J.Crew turtleneck with some black tights for a more “mod” type look.
Summer is on its way though and I’m excited to bust this out when the temperatures are hot and when my skin is beautifully bronzed. Pair this with some strappy sandals and a killer pair of sunglasses and you’re all set!
Wanna know a strange thing about the “jewels” I’m wearing? They come for a lobby sale at a local hospital. Totally bizarre, but the hospital where I’ve had four back surgeries is a goldmine for affordable accessories. It’s proof that you can certainly never count out a great shopping opportunity, especially when darting in and out of doctor appointments. Who knew?! (Too bad hospital lobbies don’t afford the luxury of online shopping, though.)
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed watching me parade around like a princess for an hour. A couple people passing by gave me some odd looks as I twirled around in my tiara, but who cares? We’re all entitled to feel like a Prom queen or a princess now and then. Kate Middleton would be proud! *wink*
Definitely take a minute or two to peruse Boohoo’s occasionwear line here, because I guarantee you’ll be impressed! The quality is terrific, the prices virtually can’t be beat and there’s honestly something for every style and occasion. and there’s something that fits every style. There’s truly something for everyone and every occasion. It also never hurts to throw on a tiara!

Nice post. You as a princess? *gasp* That’s not heathen like behaviour! 😛 I love those bracelets! 😉 There’s gotta be at least one perk when going to the hospital, ha, I’m glad that jewellery is yours! Mine is usually the antibacterial hand foam dispensers.
I’m looking on boohoo now for a dress. I might have to add this one to my ‘maybe’ list – it’s actually affordable and really nice 🙂
