The 2020 Georges Hobeika fall couture collection made its triumphant debut on the runway this week, delivering a sign of hope we could all use during such a challenging time.
In a year where nothing is normal, a hopeful glimpse of normalcy appeared on the fashion circuit this week with the 2020 Georges Hobeika Fall couture collection’s unveiling. Under normal circumstances, the runway show would have been fabulous. Under the circumstances we find ourselves in today? It was a triumph!
As discussed earlier, the future of fashion shows as a whole is uncertain with COVID-19. Adapting, Paris’s beloved “couture week” has gone entirely virtual this July. Houses like Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli opted for editorial style videos and lookbook presentations to showcase their latest couture designs. Georges Hobeika took things several steps further — staging a dramatic runway show in his homeland of Lebanon. Except this season, there were no guests of any kind.
After months of lockdown with travel restrictions and many major events canceled, the presentation was an important milestone! Georges Hobeika prevailed, safely sharing his new collection while keeping the spirit of a traditional runway show alive. Audiences around the globe were able to tune in live on his Instagram and the full video is available on demand as well.
A Glitzy Georges Hobeika Fall Couture Collection
While I did not know exactly what “virtual couture week” would bring, I knew under no uncertain terms that the Georges Hobeika fall couture collection was one I most definitely wanted to discuss. My celebration of the spring 2020 couture collection remains one of the MOST read DreaminLace posts of the year (thus far). It also continues to be shared again and again over on Pinterest.
Judging by these benchmarks, I think it’s clear I’m not the only Georges Hobeika fan out there. And after this week’s fall couture debut – I think I’m officially elevating my status to “Superfan”.
Every season, I look forward to what will come next and by golly — the latest Georges Hobeika fall couture DOES NOT disappoint. Entitled “Madame President”, the collection features 41 dramatic looks with all the glitz you could ever hope for. Lush colors, flawless attention to detailing and designs that show strength at such a difficult time. Add to that the cinematic setting of Tripoli’s theater and it’s easily my favorite fashion moment of the year.
In many ways, Georges Hobeika gave us a sign of hope we could all use at the moment.
A Note From the Atelier:
Maison GEORGES HOBEIKA is proud to debut its Fall-Winter 2020-21 Couture collection from the heart of Lebanon.
There is no denying the world is collectively going through a hard time, and we’re feeling that especially in our dear country. Though the global travel restrictions pose many inconveniences, we are happy for this unique opportunity to present this couture collection to the world from our homeland.
We have always utilized fashion as a launch pad for what ‘could be.’ While each collection’s theme is different, our inspiration has always been rooted in the strength of the Middle Eastern woman. So we present to you: MADAME PRESIDENT.
This collection is a glimpse into a new era of aspirations, where women and men lead in collective strength to demand respect, equality, and a better tomorrow.
