It wouldn’t be Christmas without sharing my festive makeup favorites. Bonus? A Tarte giveaway!
For those of you who read Monday’s post on a Netflix Christmas Movie Guide (here) and saw me allude to that as my last post before Christmas, WRONG I was. Whilst doing my makeup this morning I realized that I never shared this year’s festive makeup favorites and it just wouldn’t seem right to celebrate the Christmas season without sharing with you my favorite red lipstick now would it? Didn’t think so.
These are the festive makeup bits that I’ve literally been wearing nonstop since Thanksgiving. When I started to edit the photos, it dawned on me that it’s kind of a Tarte Cosmetics heavy selection of products but there you have it. It does feature a total THROWBACK favorite though. Seriously, how did I forget how wonderful the MAC Studio Fix foundation is? I’ve rediscovered how miraculous it is this month and of course it begs the question: just why did I ever stop using it to begin with? Weird.
Anyway, since I know you’re in a hurry to wrap presents and tie off loose ends before the holiday, I’ll go ahead and get started. Stay tuned though, because this post also features an exciting giveaway! That’s right. While putting together my gift list, I wanted to be sure to include you and my lovely readers. So stay tuned for details on how to win a stunning eyeshadow palette at the end.
Sephora Formula X Nail Polish in Curiosity
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without some red finger nails. This year, I’ve been loving this Formula X red nail polish. It’s a somewhat deep red with a blue undertone and is just so perfect for the festive season. I’ve been using this on its own and topping it off with gold glitter. Love it either way! The formula is pretty strong and lasts several days without chips.
Physicians Formula Riviera Strip and Sand Bronzer
This month, I’ve been really into omitting blush and going for a bronzed glow. My secret weapon? This Bobbie Brown shimmer brick knock-off by our friends at Physicians Formula. It gives such a beautiful glow to your complexion, that’s warm and not overpowering.
Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara
Earlier this year I shared a complete review on this mascara. Update? I’m still loving it! It’s honestly the best at creating fluttery lashes and impossible volume. So much so, that I’ve been asked if I was wearing false lashes before while wearing this mascara. Don’t ask me how it does it, but it layers like a champ on your lashes and truly creates a false lash effect. I’m obsessed.
Tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Bae
Oh hello there, beautiful red lipstick. This year, I wanted to branch out from my classic favorite reds and try something new. I picked up this red lip paint on a whim and have been loving it! It’s a demi-matte finish, but doesn’t feel drying on the lips at all. (You know that feeling when your liquid lipstick dries and you feel like it’s sucking the life out of you like a vampire? Yea, no need to worry about that.)
I know it’s not technically a “festive makeup” item, but the design of this Tangle Teezer is just so cute and cheerful that it seems festive to me. This fall, I discovered this gem and it’s been a lifesaver in sorting through my tangled and way too long hair. Seriously, I must get in for a hair cut soon.
Sephora by OPI Glitter Nail Polish
Apologies for including a product that was limited edition and not readily available, but it’s just the best gold glitter nail polish! Hopefully Sephora and OPI will do another collab together soon and bring it back. But for now, I did manage to find it on eBay, here. I’ve been using the gold to create an ‘accent’ nail on my fingers throughout the month, but it’s currently sparkling away on my toes. Sure, they’re tucked away in shoes because it’s 7 degrees outside but I know its there…and that’s all that counts.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC25
One of the very first MAC products I ever used was the classic Studio Fix foundation. Then for reasons unknown I stopped, but I’ve really loved using it again this month. I know it’s kind of a heavy foundation, but I find if you use just a little bit it works fine for everyday use. Probably the best part of the foundation is its longevity, but I also quite like the finish. It’s matte, but natural. It’s also surprisingly comfortable and lightweight for a full-coverage foundation.
Tarte In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette *Giveaway Item*
I’ve been absolutely obsessed with the Tarte In Bloom eyeshadow palette. It’s quite possibly my favorite neutral eye palette, ever. For reals. The shades are all right up my alley and I have so much fun crafting new looks everyday while drinking coffee out of my Santa mug. It’s SO good that I know literally everyone will love it, which is why I’ve decided to give one away 🙂
