Summer is on its way, meaning…it’s time to clear the way for summer 2016’s BEST sundresses!
Despite the 50 degree temperatures and rain hanging around outside my window, sundress weather IS coming and I figure it’s high time I start to prepare my closet. After all, when you’re bundled up in a sweater and scarf on May 17th – why NOT do a little sundress shopping, right?
No doubt, when it comes to the it sundress of the year…Chloe wins. When the rainbowed confection of a maxi dress swept down the runway last fall, it was indeed a moment and I dare so NO ONE can top a Chloe sundress in summer 2016. However, we might not all have the bank balance to allow for such rainbow chiffon beautifulness. Womp womp. Fear not, I rallied up some really nice alternatives from Alice + Olivia and our good pals at Topshop that will definitely have you parading around in your favorite gladiator sandals at a festival near you soon!
Sitting here, sipping on hot tea and watching Bates Motel (ohmygod, can we TALK about that finale?? I’m rewatching season 1 to recover), I’m thinking on the warm summer days ahead with the sun beaming down on us all. The forecast is down right crummy this week, but guaranteed a beautiful summer afternoon is headed our way and what better way to peruse the local shops, sip margaritas by the pool or even enjoy a refreshing picnic in the park than in a casual summer sundress? Whatever is on your agenda this summer, a sundress is the #1 effortless way to look pulled together and chic. Pro tip: a Fedora will top you off nicely!

Of course when it comes to attitude in a sundress, no one does it better than Beyonce. This summer, while sashaying down the sidewalk or sipping on an iced cold glass of lemonade, remember Bey – and her marigold Roberto Cavalli gown that gave LIFE to her HBO Lemonade special. B’s basically playing 100 percent of the time for me these days, so I thought a little send off of her going to town in a killer maxi dress would be the PERFECT send-off for us to perfect our own summer closets.
