Time to ditch the heavy winter parkas in favor of cool statement jackets for spring! Meet 15 spring 2016 jackets to covet for your wardrobe, pronto.
A good fashion rule of thumb? You can never go wrong with a jacket. Much like Aladdin’s magical carpet, a jacket has special powers and will take the clothes you are wearing and transform them into a true outfit. Feeling rushed and don’t know what to wear? Grab a jacket. Want to look 100% put together? Wear a jacket. No wardrobe is complete without at least three staple jackets that you can wear with virtually anything to dress up, dress down or rock out your look.
Jackets while fabulous in every season, really hit their prime in the spring and fall months. No need to cover them up with heavy winter coats or take them off because you’re dripping from 95 degree temperatures and the blazing summer sun.
With the Band
My love of the band jacket trend what inspired me to start hunting around the internet for spring jackets. When I found a goldmine of them hanging out at Free People, I simply couldn’t resist rounding them up to share with you. I dare say, a band jacket is guaranteed to make you the coolest girl in the room. Of course, my love of jackets goes beyond the marching band and this spring, I’m really feeling blue! I found a really gorgeous blazer from (everyone’s favorite) J.Crew and a stunning cobalt jacket from Zara that is just too delicious.
And of course, you can never go wrong with the classics. Be it a modern day trench coat or a swing style overcoat, I like to get my Spencer Hastings on (shout out to Tuesday’s PLL finale!) and go preppy chic. They’re also capsule wardrobe staples that are worth the investment as they’ll work just as well for you in the fall…and for years to come.
