How is it Easter weekend already? Guess it’s time to prep our makeup!
I’m basically resisting traumatic shock that we’re already at Easter weekend, but 2016 flying by at warped speed aside…I am a bit excited to start putting some splashes of pink and purple on my face this weekend. In the Midwest, we had a nice week of sunshine and warm temperatures, but for the holiday weekend that’s turning gloomy and cold. Cruel joke, right? At the very least, we have our makeup!
When I think about Easter makeup, pink and purples eyes immediately come to mine. I’ve been really loving this limited edition cute palette from Dior that you can currently get with the purchase of the glorious Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara. (Trust me, that mascara is bae.) Givenchy‘s trusty Ombre Couture creme eyeshadow is also a staple. It’s great on its own or used as a base.
On my lips, PINK is the name of the game! Whether it’s a plush gloss by Dior or a full pop of color by YSL, it simply won’t be Easter without puckering up my pink lips. Tis’ the time to ditch my favorite reds and go on full-on girlie. It’s a spring awakening!
Dior Eyeshadow (similar here)
I just purchased this adorable travel one, but it apparently sold out in a flash. But, no worries because the full-sized will be just as wonderful. Of all the higher end eyeshadows, I dare say Dior’s formula is my favorite. They’re rich with color, but also very soft and seamlessly blend. There’s also a WIDE selection of options to lust after.
Givenchy Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow in ‘Prune Taffetas’
I love these cream shadows by Givenchy. Their texture is much more soft, almost like a smooth powder cream, which leaves you with virtually no weird chunks or creases like heavier variations. With hazel eyes, purple is a go-to standard and I find love with this guy season after season.
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in (Plum)Age
When spring comes around, I start turning to these beautiful semi-metallic eyeliners by Marc Jacobs. They quickly give pop to your eyes and this plum color is divine and perfect for the spring and Easter season! Don’t ask me how they work, but after a minute or so they set and are virtually locked in place. Stand up product!
Chanel Tisse Camelia Eyeshadow Quad
I have a full review on this eyeshadow quad, here…but it’s still on my mind as a great option for the spring season. Rather than focuses on the plums, I pink being the true star this spring. Wash the pink all over your lid with a splash of color in your outer crease for a spring eye makeup look that’s sure to pop!
Too Faced‘s Better Than Sex Mascara
Because it’s wonderful and pink, what better mascara to use to get in the Easter spirit than Too Faced’s iconic ‘Better than Sex’ mascara. It may or may not be better than sex, but it’s guaranteed to make your lashes look full and fluttery this season!
Dior Addict Iridescent Lip Gloss in ‘Pearl’
If you’re feeling ultra soft for your makeup this Easter and spring, I highly recommend the Dior Addict glosses. They’re so smooth and plush on your lips and come in a wide variety of beautiful washes of pink.
YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in ‘Fetish Pink’ #8
If you’re in the mood for a more full-color pink for your lipstick, there’s no better option that one of YSL’s iconic Rouge Volupte lipstick. Holy grail products, indeed. Rich in color. Pure butter on your lips. You’ll feel transformed!
I feel so lucky to have a long holiday weekend this year for Easter. The work offices will be closed Good Friday and on Monday following Easter, making for some nice quality time with the family and relaxing by myself. I’m looking at it as a ‘spring break’ of sorts, so if I’m a bit less quiet on Twitter/Instagram/etc….that’s why. This is a weekend to take time for ourselves and recharge!
Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate…and for everyone else, happy spring! Now I’m off to look up an Easter recipe or two for Sunday. My family no longer goes to church or anything, but we do love a good Easter brunch! Talk to you next week!
