In case you missed my marathon of tweets on Twitter, the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards took place and the red carpet was STOCKED with glamour. Even better? There was a marathon of ‘fashion forward’ looks to satisfy the cravings of fashionistas everywhere! Dreamers, let’s salivate over the Best Dressed List!
Aubrey Plaza in Alexandre Vaulthier
Is anyone else in love with Aubrey Plaza and her hilarious portrayal of the moody intern on Parks and Recreation? She was perfect, as is this slinky Vaulthier.
Claire Danes Extends Her Winning Streak
If it’s purple, slinky and sparkles – I’m on it. If Claire Danes is part of the equation? I’m elated. Chains became the surprise trend of the night, and no one blends edge and beauty like Prada and Ms. Danes.
Jaimie Alexander Dazzles in Armani
OHMYGOD is this real life? This dress photographs on film like a dream! It’s like a twinkling wonder and the dress is SO good that I’m actually going to check out her new show Blindspot tomorrow. PR work done well!
January Proves She’s Still the “It” Girl
No one is a prowess for cutting edge fashion, working her angles and flawless makeup like January Jones. Girl nails it, every single time.
Joanna Newsom, Perfect from the Neck Down
I hate her hair, guys. Like, I seriously have to cover her head when I look at this – but as bad as it is, it can’t completely sink the fabulousness of this Delpozo. Here’s to more and more Delpozo moments on the red carpet!
Kiernan Shipka Ups the Ante with Dior
Hi there new Emma Watson! Sally Draper is officially grown up and the new fashionista in town.
Mama Monster in Brandon Maxwell
I’m a big fan of Lady Gaga, but her red carpet history over the past 2 years as underwhelmed me. At the Emmy’s though, she really brought it! Sometimes tells me her role in American Horror Story: Hotel will introduce us to a whole new era for Gaga. Can’t wait!
Teyonah Parris
Teyonah was on Mad Men, making her an immediate favorite of mine because my heart will forever love that show. Something I love possibly a bit more than Mad Men? Polka dots….and long, flowing dresses!
Viola Davis in Carmen Marc Valvo
I love Viola Davis! I wish I loved How to Get Away with Murder more, but at the very least – I can throw my thumbs up for her red carpet choices. For a while, I thought she was skipping the event – but she closed out the red carpet with a bang!
Zoe Kasan is Candy-Stripe Perfection
In Miu Miu, Zoe Kasan is my FAVORITE of the night! It’s fun, unexpected for the event and absolutely smashing.
Taraji P. Henson Rocks Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang needs to extend the evening wear range his namesake brand. If nothing else, Taraji P. Henson of Empire is living proof of that. This custom gown is perfect!
Told you, the Emmy red carpet was pretty incredible this year. So much so, I scarcely thought about it being the last time my beloved Mad Men cast would attend together. I know I’ve probably said this a lot around here, but I really LOVED that show…and miss it. And, as of yet – there’s nothing that can replace it in my heart.
Anyway…not everything was great on the red carpet this year. Take a gander at the frightening Worst Dressed List, here!
