Meet the most over-the-top looks of the Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2019 runway at Milfan Fashion Week. Because when it comes to fashion, extra is more fun! (Clearly.)
As those who’ve been paying attention well know, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are absolutely no strangers to drama on the runway.
And so it goes without saying that when the design duo took to the runway of Milan Fashion Week to unveil the new Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2019 collection, it was a sartorial parade of EXTRA in every sense of the word.
That’s right! If you were looking for D&G to scale it BACK on the runway – you’re out of luck.
The Spring 2019 collection goes as big as ever with over-the-top prints, high volume, an electric color palette and a mishmash of virtually every texture you can think of.
Best of the Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2019 Collection
Given that I’ve been totally out of sorts the last several weeks and have been completely ABSENT on the fashion month front, I thought I’d dust off the cobwebs of my runway coverage here on Dream in Lace by breaking down the latest from D&G.
While the brand is definitely sticking to the status quo and following the same rhythm of the last several years, my love affair with the brand continues. What can I say? Domenico and Stefano still manage to steal my heart…even though the house is overdue for a new direction.
The Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2019 collection in itself is so lavish it screams royalty to me, but the collection as a whole celebrates the power of individuality and marching to the beat of your own drum. As Domenico Dolce declared, “Each one of us is the king or queen of our own lives.” And as such, why not have luxe Italian wear to dress up your everyday life? As individual “royalty”, you deserve it.
With Milan Fashion Week now in the rearview mirror, the fashion world will be turning their heads to Paris for the latest in RTW from heavyweights like Dior, Chanel, Giambattista Valli, Elie Saab and many MANY more. Usually by this time in fashion month I feel a bit on fashion overload, but given that this month has been too busy to keep up on all the latest happenings on the runway, I’m particularly looking forward to it.
