One of my favorite beauty discoveries this year is the Marc Jacobs Highliner pen in Lun-atic. It’s that perfect streak of purple/silver gel that stays put on the lower lashline for hours. So, it was little surprise when Marc Jacobs announced their Holiday 2014 collection that the Sky-Liner Gift Set of highliners was high on my wishlist! I mean, why settle for one gel liner when you can have seven? #AmIRight?
Needless to say, as soon as Sephora‘s VIB sale hit, I was pounding the pavement to get this in my grasp. And since purchasing, my eyes have been decked out with Jacobs’ smooth and creamy liner all-day every day. Needless to say, I have NO regrets!
Maybe you’re in the market to treat yourself, or you’re perusing stores for the perfect gift for that sister, friend, niece, etc…I think you’ll find happiness in Marc Jacobs’ Sky-Liner Collection! It takes ages to complete a single eyeliner, so imagine how much use you’ll get out of these 7 perfect shades!
For the most part, I use highliners on my lower lashline and occasionally I bring these to my top lashes as well. But, I do think this would absolutely work worn blended out over the lid in a rush. The gel pencils are packed with serious pigment and once dry, stay put a very longtime. In fact, I experimented with the swatches of these I put on my hand at Sephora – and there they stayed for more than a day. Not that you necessarily want these to last over 24 hours, but it’s nice to know they can easily take you from day into night. Plus, these are perfectly petite for your handbag should you want to transition from day to night on-the-go.
Let’s walk through the shades included in Marc Jacobs’ Highliner Gift Set:
Blacquer – Blackest black
(Plum)age – Violet purple
Th(ink) – Deep purple
Midnight in Paris – Deep navy
Sunset – metallic gold
Brown(out) – chocolate brown
O(vert) – hunter green
Honestly, my only complaint about this gift set is I wish it included a silver liner, even though I do have Lun(atic) sitting in my vanity. Silver and gold are perfect for the holiday season and a touch of silver would’ve been a nice addition to the collection.
What about you, though? Are you sold on Marc Jacobs’ Sky-Liner set? This retails for $45 a pop, which is a steal when you consider that a typical liner is $25 each. If you’re a beauty lover, or shopping for someone who appreciates a great liner – I suggest you pick this up while it’s available. Of all the many many holiday gift sets out there, I’d say this one is especially unique. It’s sleek and very useful. A lot of times gift sets are bulky and a bit thrown together, but I see this as a true collection that makes complete sense. More hats off to Marc Jacobs!
