Given my love affair of Marc Jacobs‘ gel highliner crayons, I picked up the Magic Marc’er Precision Eyeliner Pen with high hopes!
I’m hardly a liquid eyeliner expert, but I certainly appreciate a great eyeliner pen! Marc Jacobs Precision Eyeliner seemed destined for greatness, promising a precise, blackest black line to give you that coveted cat eye look in no time. And, after a marathon of hit beauty products, I thought for sure Marc would NAIL black eyeliner.
What made me happy with this eyeliner, is how much I could trust that it would stay put all day long. Most days, I don’t have time to glimpse in the mirror and check my makeup…making a glimpse at the mirror at 5 pm sometimes coming with a shock. I’ve seen eyeliner completely disappear, smudge or turn into a ghastly shade of gray. Marc Jacobs Precision eyeliner? No problems. The black stays black, and stays put! It’s a waterproof formula that doesn’t budge, yet comes off easily at the end of the night with makeup remover.
Downside to the eyeliner? I wish the felt tip would get more damp. The tip is great for getting a sharp line, but the product comes out at such a controlled weight that I find myself having to go over and over the same areas to get a complete line. I’ll shake, shake, shake the pen to get more product but it never gives off as much as I’d like.
Marc Jacobs’ Magic Marc’er Precision Eyeliner definitely has a lot of perks, that do outweigh the bad. At times, I question if maybe my pen is faulty and that’s why I have trouble getting enough product? Or, in general is the pen dry and that’s just the way it is?
If you’ve tried this eyeliner, definitely let me know!! I’m super curious to hear how others have gotten on with it. Because it does have such great color and length of wear, I’d love to make it work.
