A continued highlight of New York Fashion Week is the eccentric and ultra-glam concoctions of Miss Stacey Bendet and her Fall 2015 collection for Alice + Olivia proved she’s still on a serious winning streak! This season, Stacey drew inspiration from the cult classic Biba days of London and the rock n’roll era of the Rolling Stones in the late 60’s and early 70’s. And in true Bendet fashion, it was a night of opulence as sweeping rich fabrics, lace and floral jacquards showcased texture as this season’s MVP.
NO ONE does drama quite like Miss Bendet, so kick back and digest the deliciously fantastic Fall 2015 collection!
“This season is about personal expression,” says Bendet herself of Alice + Olivia’s latest. “It is about bold femininity. It is about glamour. The clothes have a true rock and roll vibe while being simultaneously very romantic.”
In a nutshell, Alice + Olivia’s rocking romance is a celebration of decadence. A jewel tone color palette, brocade jackets, regal silhouettes and embellishments of and feathers and lace lined a ballroom fit for a king. The collection did not stray from Alice + Olivia’s continued fascination with the modern fairy tale and celebrated aristocracy with that air of sophistication we’ve come to love and expect…straight down to the crimson red lip!
Alas, my love for Alice + Olivia and all of Stacey Bendet’s charms unsurprisingly continues. In a world where it seems EVERYONE is playing it safe these days, I love their refusal to stray from the dramatic. It’s that enchanting charisma that keeps Alice + Olivia on the top of my must-see list of New York Fashion Week and this season was no disappointment. Stacey Bendet designs clothes with such love and bravado that you can’t help but want to come along for the ride. Bravo!
