Putting the new Dior Ultra Care Lipstick Collection to the test! Are you ready to pucker up?
Oh goodness, is there anything more exciting than a new lipstick?
And the new Dior Ultra Care lipstick collection comes at just the right time in my world. After months of gravitating towards lip glosses and lip shines…I’m finally back in the mood for a creamy good lipstick and these beauties sure deliver!!
To boot? The Dior Ultra Care lipstick collection delivers both a standard tube formula as well as a liquid formula. Both versions are extremely pigmented but have a different feel on the lips. The tube lipstick has a nice satin finish with a subtle sheen where as the liquid variety has a nice velvet finish that’s near matte.
Testing the Dior Ultra Care Lipstick Collection
When it came to testing the new lipsticks, I knew I had to give both the tube and liquid version a try.
For my liquid lipstick, I went for a deep berry tone to replicate the dramatic Max Mara Spring 2020 Collection runway’s makeup that so caught my eye during fashion week. (See that here).
For the tube lipsticks, I went in a different direction and chose 480 as an everyday pinky/coral that I can keep on hand in my purse to go with just about any outfit under the sun. Then there was my endless love for a classic red! I picked up the shade 999 which is the color you see all over the advertisements for the lipsticks. It’s a cheerful poppy red that will truly never go out of style!
After several weeks of wearing virtually nothing but these Ultra Care beauties on my lips – I’m ready to share a full report with you on how they feel and perform!

Let’s Talk Formula: Rich and Creamy
The Dior Ultra Care lipstick collection has a rich and creamy formula that’s extremely satisfying to wear on the lips. The formula is so rich, in fact, that I almost feel like I’ve had a little bit of lip fillers added. The bring dimension to the lips that really is quite remarkable.
Ample Shade Selection
In total, the Dior Ultra Care liquid lipstick comes in 25 shades and 21 shades for the tube version. Shades range from everyday neutrals to deep berry tones for the autumn and winter seasons as well as classic reds. There’s virtually something for everyone, no matter what you’re looking for.
Long-Lasting Wear Time
The lipsticks come with a claim of a 12-hour wear time, and while I think that may be stretching it a bit…I do have to say they’re quite long lasting. Both the stick and liquid formula stays put on my lips through meals and about five cups of coffee. (Which is good news if you’re a caffeine addict, like me.)
Full Coverage Lipsticks
As I mentioned above, I’ve been using lip glosses and lip shines around the clock lately…and was definitely in the mood to switch it up and revisit a good ole’ full-coverage lipstick! Well, these beauties from Dior definitely do the trick. They give your lips a full wash of color with just one layer. If you’re wanting to step it up even further, they do layer very nicely as well. (Although that’s absolutely not necessary.)
Smooth and Even Pigment
When it comes to lipstick, particularly liquid lipsticks…it drives me up the wall when the formula is patchy and uneven. The Ultra Care lipsticks, however, deliver smooth and consistent coverage to your lips that also wears down evenly.

As you can see, the Dior Ultra Care lipsticks have nice color pay off and a beautiful finish. They’re perfect for the cooler months we’re heading into as well because of how well they care for the lips when taking a beating from the elements.
Moisturizing Ingredients
Both versions of the Dior Ultra Care lipsticks are formulated with flower oil as well as almond oil and shea butter to nourish and care for your lips — while simultaneously give you a nice, pretty pout.
No Bleeding
Even when worn without a lip liner, I ran into zero issues of bleeding while testing these out over the last few weeks. Hooray, for that!

Overall Grade: A
Well, in my book – Dior launched two fantastic lines of lipstick with the Dior Ultra Care collection. I might even go so far as to say the liquid version is my favorite liquid lipstick of all time! It’s impossibly weightless on the lips and not drying in the least — which definitely can’t be said for a lot of other liquid products on the market.
The price tag is high, but the quality does come through. I definitely recommend picking one up as a treat for yourself — or even gifting one to a loved one. (Hey, the holidays are coming up!) From top to bottom, my experience with these lipsticks has been a positive one. Great packaging, great coverage, long lasting — they’re essentially perfect.
