Time to stock up your summer makeup bag and the SoCal-inspired Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette is quite the beauty.
Well, dreamers – this much is clear. We’re not getting a spring this year.
Nope! Winter transcended directly into summer with scorching hot temperatures and humidity so high I feel like I’m living in a vaporizer. My spring sweaters remained stacked and unworn in my closet and I’m browsing the web for all the cute lightweight sundresses and blouses I can find.
No question about it, Summer 2018 is upon us and it’s on track to be a hot one.
The Summer Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette
Whether you are ready for summer or not, it’s time to start prepping your makeup bag and the Urban Decay Beached palette is well worth your attention.
I first spotted this palette in a tweet from Teen Vogue and immediately was drawn in. My friend actually bought it from adorebeauty.com.au and then I knew I HAD to buy it. What can I say? I was seduced by the blazing coppers and deep turquoise. Probably the very last thing any of us need is yet another neutral palette and leave it to Urban Decay to turn up the heat.
Exclusively available at Ulta, the Beached palette is inspired by Urban Decay’s SoCal roots and emulates the color palettes of the sun, sand and surf. Included are eight shades and – like most UD palettes – the shadows lean more heavily on shimmer and metallic finishes over matte.
Of course, the one true matte shade Daybreak is so versatile that it could be a staple in countless makeup looks.
Oh goodness. I’m just honestly so excited about the Urban Decay Beached palette.
After literally falling in love with it at first glance online, I was itching for it to arrive and can’t tell you how much more fun it makes getting out of bed in the morning. The color range just screams summer to me. Be it by the beach, the pool or at a summer festival – there are countless looks you can create with all the summer vibes!
The Pigmentation
I of course have to comment on the pigmentation. For me, Urban Decay usually hits it out of the park but some of their palettes can be inconsistent between shades *cough Naked 3*. With the Beached palette though, I found each and every shade to be beautifully pigmented. They apply beautifully dry, but if you’re feeling frisky – I suggest applying the metallic shades wet for even more “Wow” factor.
When it comes to designing a beach-inspired eyeshadow palette, Urban Decay definitely hit it out of the park! Doesn’t the shade selection just SCREAM summer to you?
Now, I know you’re going to want to see some swatches…so here we go!
Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Swatches
It’s probably weird to say that an eyeshadow palette is making my excited for summer – but….the Urban Decay Beached palette is honestly making me excited for summer.
Sunny days by the pool, festivals at night, walks on the beach, evening strolls and sunsets. I see myself reaching for this palette all summer long…especially when I think about how long-lasting it is, even in high humidity.
The Beached Palette Run Down:
- Exclusively available at Ulta
- Eight shades – one matte, the rest very shimmery
- $34 price tag – making it quite the steal as the Naked palettes are each $54
- Richly pigmented
- Long-lasting, even in high heat and humidity*
- Cruelty-Free
* When wearing, I do always use the Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Primer which likely extends the use of the shadows.
Bonus: Urban Decay Beached Eye Pencil in ‘Lucky’
Of course, I couldn’t overlook the fact that the Summer Urban Decay Beached collection also includes two new shades of their famous 24/7 glide-on pencils. If you have not used these bad boys before, lemme tell you – they LAST.
I’ve always felt like I must blink more than the average bear because – with two exceptions – eye pencils tend to vanish into thin air on me.
(Exception #1? Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner pencils. Exception #2? Urban Decay)
Don’t ask me how exactly Urban Decay does it – but their pencils last and last. So naturally when I saw they released the perfect copper shade ‘Lucky’ for summer, I had to snatch it up. Seems like quite the universal shade really and will be beautiful worn in every season.
Okay, Dreamers! Now that I’ve sufficiently raved about the Urban Decay Beached eyeshadow palette and my new favorite eyeliner, I’m going to leave you here. As always, I SO appreciate you taking the time to read Dream in Lace. It truly means the world to me to have you visit.
