Breaking into cozy sweater weather with Princess Rosebud as I kick-off my mission to Dream Positive in 2018!
Hello there, dreamers! Today’s post is a bit of a combo post because there are two things I want to discuss:
- Updates on my New Year goals and a mission to spread more positivity
- My love of cozy sweaters
I know, I know. You might be thinking those two don’t necessarily work together but when I consulted with Princess Rosebud (an expert source), she felt we could absolutely promote positivity while discussing uber cozy sweaters at the same time. She is an optimist, overall, so I say let’s do it!!
In my New Year’s post, I mentioned my goals to get away more, better manage my schedule and continue making a positive difference in my community in 2018.
Less than two weeks in, I’ve booked a trip out east next month (New York Fashion Week, hello!), significantly better managed my work/life schedule and not only returned to work fundraising for a nonprofit but…ALSO, found a new place to volunteer.
That’s right, so far…so good. But, turns out…I want to do more!
Dream Positive 2018!
Reflecting on 2017, I was reminded by just how much negativity surrounded us all day in and day out. From a steady stream of bad news in the headlines to blatant hostility among people…it was no doubt a tense year. So much so, that I think we lost sight of the fact that there is goodness in the world and with that in mind…I’m on a mission to celebrate that more.
Both here on Dream in Lace and across my social media channels, I’m launching a personal #DreamPositive2018 initiative to spread more good news, share inspirational stories and quotes and celebrate great people doing great things.
I of course invite you along because I think the more positivity we spread, the better. Right?

Cozy Sweater Weather Style with Rosebud
With that PSA about my new mission to promote positivity in the new year out of the way…let’s talk about the weather.
Ha! The weather.
Currently, I’m heading into a weekend with lots of ice and snow in the forecast. That means, you’ll be able to find me bundled up indoors working on NYFW plans and watching The Crown – all while dressed in a cozy sweater. While the cold and snow may not be all that great, sweater weather style does come with a lot of comfort.
To kick-off the colder days to come, I partnered with Rosebud to share with you an ultra cozy oversized sweater from Tobi. (She did try to eat the sweater a couple of times, but that’s of course beside the point.)
Sweater Weather Style Goals?
Come to think of it – this outfit in particular is filled with just about sweater everything. Sweater boots. Sweater socks. Sweater hat. And, of course, the sweater itself. The only thing that’s not a knitted hug of cozy? The leggings…but those are mad comfortable and pull everything together nicely.
Basically, my new perspective on winter fashion is to embrace comfort at all times.
That old saying ‘fashion over function’ is apparently lost on me now. When getting dressed every day, I skim right past the short skirts and confining dresses in favor of clothing I could take a nap in.
Can I nap in this?
No?
Pass.
The Cozier, The Better
I know I’m not the only one who loves a good cozy sweater.
