Lemme walk you through some favorite makeup I’ve hit pan on! Many would say it’s a true test of how much you love a product, and I agree. 100%.
First Off:
Shout out to everyone who celebrated Mother’s Day over the weekend! Of all the holidays, Mother’s Day is truly one of my favorites and I hope you enjoyed some quality time with your mom – and if you are a mom – some new special memories with your kiddos.
I’m always down to use Mother’s Day as an excuse to whip up and extravagant brunch and this morning made the most insane vegan cinnamon rolls. I definitely DID NOT skimp on the sugar and they were positively sinful. Delish!
How to Hit Pan
As we wrap up a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend, the sun is shining and I wanted to walk you through some makeup that I’ve hit pan on. “Hitting pan” on a product is one of those random terms that’s thrown about in the beauty world. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s when you’ve used so much of a beauty product that the silver pan begins to shine through as it wears down.
Since we’re all living in a world where acquiring more and more things and products seems to be the way, it’s always a true victory when you manage to use up an entire beauty product in my book. That’s a true testament to how much you truly DO love a product, right?
Well, today I’m going to walk you through some makeup products that I’ve hit pan on and absolutely give my seal of approval! They’re basically all slam-dunk gems to pop into your makeup bag and guaranteed to land on my shopping list once again.
These are truly products that I could scream from the mountain tops about. Let’s go!
Laura Mercier Bronzer Powder
Oh look, I love the Laura Mercier bronzer so much that I managed to break off its lid. I think that’s really saying something! In fact, this is my second one of these bronzers and given how frequently I bounce around products – particularly bronzer – that’s a statement. It’s the perfect warm-tone bronze to bring a natural glow to your face, especially in the wintertime when my pale complexion needs a burst of LIFE! Shop Now.
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Euphoric Light
Oh my goodness, this is a gift from the GODS! To say I’m absolutely obsessed with this highlighting powder from Hourglass would be an extreme understatement. It actually made my heart stop a bit when I hit pan and wore this beauty down. It kisses my complexion with the perfect amount of glow that I simply cannot live without. Hourglass Ambient powders are also nice, but these strobe lighting powders have more kick. Wear this where you want to highlight for a burst of radiance that will have people swearing your angel! (Which, of course you are.) Shop here.
Tarte CC Undereye Corrector
What can I say…some nights I can’t put down my book, turn off the Netflix or am simply in ‘in the mood’ to stay up late. No doubt, having the perfect dark circle eraser in my makeup arsenal makes night owl status even more tempting. When you know you can easily conceal away any deep undereye circles in a flash, continuing onto that next episode seems worth it. Sometimes. Right? Tarte offers their INCREDIBLE undereye concealer in two shades: light-medium and medium-tan. Both are perfectly suited for counteracting any purply/blue undereye coloration. The concealer itself is also clay based, meaning it nicely fills in any ‘sunken’ in look from being up too late or pesky fine lines. Smoothing everything over and hiding any discoloration, I can guarantee you’ll walk away from using this concealer thinking you’ve had some “work done”. Winning! Shop here.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle
You know you really love MAC product when you hit pan on it, because they seem to pack more product in than usual. Let me tell you, my love for MAC’s Soft and Gentle has continued season after season. It’s a product I gravitate away from, but always come back to because it is just the ULTIMATE highlighter. Soft and Gentle was the it highlight, before highlighting even became a real thing. I feel like me and this beauty have been besties for ages and will likely grow very old together. Shop now.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent
One product I’ve used again and again, repurchasing several times in the Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder. It was my HOLY GRAIL of holy grail powders, that I used without fail every day. That is, until I discovered just how frickin’ INCREDIBLE the Rimmel Stay Matte transparent powder is – at $4.99 a pop. You can also pick up this powder in a variety of shades if you’re looking for a little added coverage. Win, win! Shop now.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
Well, I really don’t think there is anymore I can get out of this MAC powder. I mean, to say I hit pan is going lightly. Really, I demolished that powder! When it comes to setting my makeup, I generally prefer a translucent powder but I found a strong love for this powder from MAC on days where I skipped foundation altogether. It’s a finely milled powder that dusts beautifully on the face, giving a layer of coverage. This MAC skinfinish became my go-to on the weekends, when I wanted to quickly brush on some concealer and powder for an afternoon of running errands. Truly a phenomenal powder, without any fear of “cake face”. *cringe* Shop now.
Elf Blush and Bronzer Duo in Bronze Peach
This drugstore wonder is the gift that keeps on giving. The bronzer is actually incredible for contouring (particularly my nose) and the blush I’ve hit pan on because it’s so incredibly flattering, year-round. With Elf, you’ll hear mixed reviews but across the board – everyone is on board with their blushes. They’re pigmented. They’re long lasting. And, perhaps best of all, they’re EXTREMELY affordable. In this duo, you get a full-sized blush and bronzer…for $6. There’s three color varieties available but the ‘Bronzed Peach’ is my favorite of them all! Shop now.
Oh gosh, looking at these products my heart kind of skips a little because I simply love them all SO MUCH! Honestly, if you’re in the market for an undereye concealer, powder, highlighter, etc. – all of the above get 5 stars and beyond from me.
I hope you like this off-beat way of celebrating favorite makeup products. These are all makeup heavyweights and when you hit pan on them, it’s definitely time to reorder because you’re not going to want to say goodbye. Please lemme know what products are hanging out in your makeup collection that you’ve ‘hit pan’ on. I’d love to hear your top suggestions!
Thank you so, so much for reading and I wish you a beautiful week! The weather is bordering on summertime weather here this week and I’m ready to bust out the shorts, sandals and sundresses.
