With sunshine and heat in the forecast, it’s the perfect time for a little makeup show and tell! Meet my spring/summer makeup favorites for the warm months ahead:
Hello and Happy Wednesday! It’s been a long while since I’ve shared a roundup of my beauty favorites, but I thought since I do have such wonderful bits decorating my face every day – why not do a little show and tell? I did decide to retire ‘monthly favorites’ posts last year, but I think it’s a great thing to still periodically round up what I’m loving and spill the beans on makeup products I truly adore and suggest you give a try yourself.
Memorial Day weekend is now in our rear-view mirrors, meaning we’re charging right into summer! All of the makeup products I have to share today are perfect for the hot summer months ahead. They’re easy to use and will give you that fresh faced look we all love. From the perfect summer base, to my new favorite lipstick – there’s truly something for everyone. I promise!
Let’s dive into my makeup bag shall we? Meet my spring/summer makeup favorites!
Tarte ‘Tarteist’ Blush Palette (here)
If there’s one thing I can appreciate, it’s a Tarte blush! They’re beautiful on the skin and really do last quite a long time. They’re also both vegan and cruelty-free. Win, win! This spring, I snatched up their latest blush palette and it’s been a go-to in my daily makeup routine ever since. It’s so easy to turn to this every morning to quickly swipe on some color before rushing out the door. My favorite of shade included is ‘Love’, but all four are truly perfect for rounding out your blush collection. Don’t think I’ll be needing to buy blush for long time!
NYX HD Concealer (here)
One of my continually most popular posts on Dream in Lace is one where I declared this HD concealer from NYX to be a dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer. I STILL stand by that and honestly haven’t found a concealer that comes close to the quality of this one for the price. At this point, I’ve lost count of how many tubes of concealer I’ve gone through from NYX but at $4.99 a pop, who’s counting? Definitely pick this up next time you’re at the drugstore!
Laura Mercier ‘Caviar’ Shadow Stick in ‘Sugar Frost’ (here)
When sunshine and warmer temperatures roll around, I start reaching for quick eyeshadow products that bring a bit of sparkle. My favorite is this cream shadow stick by Laura Mercier, that is like brushing glitzy diamond sparkle across your lids in no time flat. Think Edward Cullen sparkle, without the awkward vampire thing. It’s such a perfect product for wearing to work, or for glitzing up on a night out. Very versatile!
Urban Decay ‘One and Done’ Skin Perfector (here)
My favorite spring/summer base this year – hands down – is Urban Decay’s genius ‘One and Done’ hybrid product. This works as a moisturizer and your foundation, all in one! The coverage is more than you can expect from your average tinted moisturizer and holds up astonishingly well. I’m amazed how I can put this on in the morning and still look perfectly put together in the evening. Even with the humidity we’ve been having lately this product holds up! It’s so good, I’ve already ordered a back-up as I’m nearly through it already. If you want to learn more, I have a full review on this product here!
Marc Jacobs Sheer Nudes Lipstick in ‘Have We Met?’ (here)
Lately, I’m giving my bold lips a rest and have been seriously loving sheer pops of pink. It’s a soft, feminine looks that’s beautiful for this time of year. My favorite addition to my lipstick family is this beauty by Marc Jacobs. It’s the perfect everyday pink. I stash this is in my handbag because it goes with virtually everything and is so quick and easy to apply that you honestly don’t even need a mirror. It’s that soft and smooth gel feel that I adore with Marc’s highliner eye crayons. Soft and comforting on the lips. Definitely excited to explore lipsticks from Marc Beauty, now!
Estee Lauder ‘Bronze Goddess’ Bronzer (here)
Meet the mother of all bronzers, by Estee Lauder. For years, I’ve watched other beauty bloggers and experts rave about the Bronze Goddess but held off on giving it a try. Last December I caved and I honestly don’t think I’ve used another bronzer since! All through winter this was a lifesaver for giving my dull complexion some color, but now that the summer is here I’m appreciating it that much more. A surprising perf of the Bronze Goddess? The brush it came with! Usually I toss the brushes makeup brands include, but the one Estee Lauder made for this bronzer is perfect for carving out your cheek bones for doing some defining and contouring. I’m a total noob when it comes to contour, but the powder and brush work seamlessly together. Love!
