Well, it’s here…the final press tour promoting the final Hunger Games film. So, just what are the stars wearing to promote Mockingjay Part 2? (Psst: A lot of Dior….and PJs.)
Hard to believe we’re nearing the end of The Hunger Games film franchise. I remember DRAGGING my mom to see an afternoon showing on opening day back in 2012. At the time, I was recovering from a major back surgery and not allowed to drive – so I got all “tween” on her, insisting she drive me and join me for the flick. Of course I had read and devoured all three books probably twice at that point, and no WAY was I going to miss the movie. It was painful and near impossible sitting still long enough to get through the film (thanks, back surgery) – but I was determined. And boy, am I glad that I did because it was amazing. It was also pretty comical watching my mom shield her eyes in terror of just what was going to happen. Gosh mom, toughen up. This is only the beginning!
Now we’re years later and I still love the books and The Hunger Games film franchise as much as I did then. We’ve watched Jennifer Lawrence truly blossom before our eyes as an actress and fashionista. We’ve seen Liam Hensworth date, propose and breakup with Miley Cyrus. We’ve seen Josh Hutchinson — well, I don’t know quite what we’ve watched him do, but he totally did win over our hearts as Peeta, despite a lot of skepticism going into it.
It’s been an incredible 4 years and as much as I’m dying to see how Mockingjay Part 2 brings everything together, it’s also sad to bid farewell to the franchise that’s become a tradition for us all. Anyone else planning to have a full on binge-fest of movies 1-3 before the premiere? And listen to the soundtracks nonstop? I mean, yes!
But, while we wait for the days to whittle down till The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 2 opens in theaters world-wide, let’s browse the star fashion on the press tour and red carpets!
Shout-out to Woody Harrelson for sporting my dream outfit for watching movies. It takes a special man to being able to pull of PJs on the red carpet, and he does so…well. JLaw’s predictably worn a lot of Dior, but I do really love that purple Dior gown. Off-brand, I love seeing her branch out into designers like Ralph Lauren and Proenza Schouler. It’s good to remember that Jennifer Lawrence is an American girl at heart, just like the rest of us.
Are you DYING for The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 to debut, too? Let me know what scenes you’re most looking forward to seeing…and do you think they’ll go different than the book?
Be sure to follow me on Twitter for more coverage of the press tour as we narrow down the final days. The end is CLOSE guys. Close! 🙁
What’s your Hunger Games story? Where did you first see the movie?
