Cheers to three days of Paris Fashion Week under our belt. And oh, what glorious days they were as the Spring/Summer 2016 Runways have brought some of the best collections we’ve seen in ages!
From John Galliano digging his heals deeper into Maison Margiela, to Lanvin crawling out of last season’s slump with a collection stock-full of future red carpet looks and Dries Van Noten bringing pure elegance to the runway, it’s been a busy few days in Paris. Which is great, really, as Milan Fashion Week was a bit of a letdown this time around, wasn’t it?
It’s a good thing we always have our Parisian runways to take things out with a bang, and with a bang they shall with runway collections to come from powerhouses like Chanel, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Valention, etc. etc. etc. In case you live under a rock, or just aren’t as in-tune to the latest fashion news, research and measurements show that New York has officially inched passed Paris as the true’ fashion capital of the world,’ but even so — there’s no denying that Paris is very much the cream of the crop of the fashion industry with with the fashion’s top elite flocking to the scene.
Just three days in, we’ve already seen major collections from a selection of designers, like Anthony Vaccarello, Carven and Rochas. So far, each collection has been REALLY strong — with very few ‘worst’ looks in my book. (Of course, I think a “worst” post is in my future. May as well have a little fun!)
To make it extra simple for you as we head into the weekend, here’s a selection of the top, must-see looks from the Spring/Summer 2016 runways at Paris Fashion Week!
I do have intentions to do full reviews on Dries Van Noten and Lanvin, once I get a little sleep in me….but please, let me know if there are any upcoming collections you’re really interested in. I’m always excited to see what Valentino, Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen have up their sleeves for the new season – and Celine and Balenciaga follow not too far behind.
Thank you so much for reading and I do want to very quickly say I appreciate your patience as my “Fashion Week” coverage has been a bit slower than previous seasons at Dream in Lace. There’s just been a lot going on that’s interfering with my original plans for the month. But, no matter how much or how little time I have – rest assured, there will always be some variable of coverage here! (Because I’m too fashion crazed to let “Fashion Month” slide, obviously.) Thank you, dreamer, and have a fantastic weekend!
