The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Anna Wintour sure know how to throw a party! The 2015 Met Gala red carpet was abuzz with the top designers, models and A-list celebs. Heck, even Amal and George Clooney made an appearance! This year’s theme took a Look through the Looking Glass at Oriental design, and as always there were those that followed the theme – and those that went far, FAR off the map. (Looking at you, Beyonce. But, girl. You know I love you.)
To be frank, the red carpet was overwhelming. From here on out, I’m taking a vacation day the day after the Met Gala. My mind needs some serious downtime after the rabid tweeting, clicking and lusting.
Here are my picks for 10 Best Dressed at the 2015 Met Gala!
Amal Clooney in John Galliano for Maison Margiela Atelier
Be still my heart. I practically wept over the sight of Amal Clooney dazzling in this red Galliano that’s very reminiscent to one of my all-time Galliano for Dior designs. Guys, the man is BACK!
Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy Couture
Amanda Seyfried made me long for a Rooney Mara sighting with her bold, dark lip and crisp white ensemble. Givenchy’s little darling certainly did not disappoint.
Bee Shaffer in custom Alexander McQueen
When you’re Anna Wintour’s daughter – why NOT look 100% flawless at the Met Gala? Honestly, she’d be letting us down if she didn’t look amazing.
Claire Danes in Valentino Couture
A bold, dark lip was the breakout beauty trend of the night, and Claire Danes stepped it up with perfectly tousled blonde hair. The Valentino was definitely off-theme, but that’s what I love about Claire. She’s consistently marching to the beat of her own drum. (P.S. Who else is DYING for Homeland season 5?)
Jessica Chastain in Givenchy Couture
I know, same ol’…same ol’…but when the same ol’ is this good? Why stop? 😉
Karolina Kurkova in Tommy Hilfiger
I love that the ultimate American designer made a custom piece for the occasion and batted it out of the park. Go Tommy!
Kendall Jenner in Calvin Klein Collection
Kendall’s the latest CK girl, making it little surprise she wore Calvin Klein. I do love seeing CK embrace embellishments more, though. First Lupita’s pearl gown at the Oscars, and now this!
Lady Gaga in Balenciaga
All hail mother monster, or in this case…mother Geisha. OF COURSE Lady Gaga took it upon herself to go with the theme. #NailedIt
Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa
An unexpected favorite is Poppy Delevingne in this dramatic, yet romantic, Marchesa.
Sarah Jessica Parker in custom H&M with Philip Treacy Headdress
Leave it to SJP to rock the most amazing headpiece of the evening — in H&M.
