The 2015 Grammy Awards took place this weekend and *woah* was the red carpet STOCKED with big stars! Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga AND Madonna were all in attendance. And, as if that’s not enough to get you going…Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and a slew of other musically talented gems were there as well. Seriously, I practically broke a sweat during the red carpet! Fear not, I stayed nicely hydrated and recruited James Marsden and Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses to accompany me while digging through the fashions and narrowing down the Best and Worst Dressed. And boy did I need their company, as the Grammy red carpet felt like 127 Dresses!
2015 Grammy Awards: Worst Dressed
As if it escaped your notice, the 2015 Grammy Awards took place this weekend…and it was BIG! Honestly, I don’t think the Grammy Awards have had such a great turnout in years! Most touching moment of the night for me? When the late Joan Rivers won a Grammy, because all I could think was: Joan would be loving this! From Kimye to Lady Gaga, all the big names were in attendance and many of them looked deliciously wacky! Joan would’ve been on CLOUD 9 ripping Madonna’s boudoir matador look apart on Fashion Police, and who could blame her? Riccardo Tisci is a man of many talents, but burlesque matador is apparently beyond even his skill level.
Yes, music’s biggest stars meant BUSINESS this year, pulling out all the stops in custom and couture looks aplenty. Fashion mavens like yourself are in for a real treat! Here is my Worst Dressed List of the night, featuring some red carpet veterans – and some misguided newcomers. Let’s go!
Grammys: Gwen Stefani’s Style Evolution
Who was your first ‘style icon’? Do you remember? I certainly do!
In light of the Grammy Awards on Sunday, I thought ‘Hey! Let’s have a Flashback Friday!’ to celebrate the style evolution of the very first person whose style I paid attention to: Gwen Stefani. See, way back in the day, my best friend and I had an embarrassingly large crush on her boyfriend (now husband) Gavin Rossdale and were quite enamored her style. Neither of us had a CLUE about fashion, but were fascinated by the level of originality she brought to occasions like the Grammys, VMAs or American Music Awards. Whatever the event, she always came along marching to the beat of her own drum.
Gwen is one of those coming-of-age artists that can really take me down memory lane. From Don’t Speak to Hollaback Girl, she’s put out countless anthems that I’ve belted out at the top of my lungs…on repeat. She’s the cool girl best friend we all had growing up, so let’s take a minute to celebrate Gwen and some her greatest fashion hits at the Grammys!

Runway Report: Valentino Spring 2015 Haute Couture
Guys, screw Cinderella! Valentino put on their own live-action fairy tale this with week a Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection that felt like the fairy tale romance of my dreams. Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri brought their own Jane Austen meets Grimm Brothers saga to life through corsets, rich textures, stunning embroidery and of course that whole whimsical sense of magic we’ve come to expect from a Valentino collection.
MUCH to my relief, the peasant dresses that plagued Valentino collections for the past several seasons were replaced with that traditional silhouette you’d expect to find on Sleeping Beauty, or, you know, the heroine of an Austen novel.
