While we all eagerly await the warm sunny days of summer, the Zadig and Voltaire Spring 2022 collection has arrived to help tide us over! And it’s a collection that’s rather perfect for the “cool girl” — as Amy Dunne of Gone Girl would say.

Studded boots. An intoxicating faux fur jacket. Slip dresses. And even high top sneakers!

Season after season, Creative Director Cécilia Bönström’s designs always capture my attention. Her work is bold, sexy and unapologetic — and the Zadig & Voltaire Spring 2022 collection is no exception. For spring, she taps into a desire for emancipation and this makes an obviously large amount of sense after the last couple years. In a post-lockdown life, she envisions a woman who balances an unbound masculine nature with a sensual, feminine sense of elegance.

And if you have a love of denim, leather and lace — the Zadig & Voltaire Spring 2022 collection will definitely be up your alley!

UNCHAINED COWGIRL

Getting in a party mood, Cécilia and her team blasted Diana Ross in the atelier and the playful Zadig & Voltaire Spring 2022 designs reflect their urge to let loose on the dance floor of the nearest discotheque. They also introduce a western theme, dubbing the collection “Elegant Cow-Boy” while leaning on denim, studs and snake prints.

Those two contrasting themes make for a super fun collection with juxtaposition that is perfect for the festival season ahead! Sharply tailored blazers are offset by soft lingerie-style pieces like slip dresses and an update to the brand’s signature camisole.

My favorite? A rock stud blazer that reads “art lover” “you turn me on” “dream with ambition” and “1997” — a nod to Zadig & Voltaire‘s founding year. Sure! It’s a blazer that might raise a few eyebrows in the 9-to-5 boardroom, but it’s perfect for a cool night this spring or a return to Coachella.
