Join me and my favorite golden retriever puppy Rosebud as we take a sunny Sunday stroll through the beautiful Alt Park in Cincinnati, Ohio!
One of my 2016 resolutions was to make better use of the community around me. As lovely as getaways to Europe or the beach may be, they’re not always practical when juggling a busy work schedule and your bank account.
I don’t talk about it often here on Dream in Lace, but there are actually a number of really beautiful locations around my hometown Cincinnati, Ohio. One of my favorites? The gorgeous Alt Park which is tucked away in the rolling hills of Hyde Park and Mt. Lookout. I gathered Rosebud recently to take her on her very first trip to the park, and together we enjoyed taking in all of the spring blossoms and the gorgeous scenery under clear blue skies.
Anyone else feeling a lift in your mood because we can now get out and enjoy the outdoors? It’s LIBERATING! Winter is such a drag and I confess, I think I really do get the winter blues. Now that we’re well on our way to summer, I look forward to getting out and about more and more to enjoy this beautiful city and experience it through Rosebud’s happy eyes.
It was such a peaceful afternoon but I had one major big regret. Next time? I’m definitely packing myself a little picnic to enjoy on the large lawn and a bowl of water for Rosebud so we can extend our stay a bit longer. Alt Park was so beautiful it felt like I was transported to the French countryside and able to mentally escape from my ongoing to do list for the day. I honestly could’ve escaped there for a full day.
With one ‘destination’ park under Rosebud’s belt, I’ll definitely be scouting out more places for us to visit around Cincinnati. I think we all get wrapped up in our routine, going to the same standard park and following the same standard route. It’s good to shake it up a bit, get out there, and explore! What new places can you visit around home this month?
By the way, I’m wearing the Urban Decay ‘One and Done’ on my face that I’m simply loving lately. It’s perfect for days like this and if you’d like to learn more about it, check out my review here.
As always, stay stylish and keep chasing your dreams!
