If there’s one thing Karl Lagerfeld is good at, it’s a lavish runway show. Stampeding social media everywhere, Chanel took to the runway to debut their Pre-Fall 2016 Collection, which featured a strong game in hosiery.
While perusing Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection, I was immediately struck by the lace tights models wore while strutting down the runway. Truthfully, I have a bit of a love affair with hosiery. With broad choices in color, texture and design – a pair of slinky tights have the power to make or break an outfit in a snap.
It’s a double edged sword. We’ll scowl at a pair of nude pantyhose on the red carpet, while standing to salute classic opaque black tights with a micro miniskirt. More adventurous fashion gals build collections of fishnets, shimmering and polka dotted tights to add spice and polish to their daily ensemble, like a ripe little cherry on top.
And, clearly, Mr. Lagerfeld and his Chanel army agree, as they bolster a Pre-Fall 2016 collection, that blends Chanel’s classic ladylike physique with urban grit, the glue holding everything together? A simple, yet elegant, pair of black lace pantyhose.
Indeed, Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection features holy grail hosiery, combining supreme elegance with mass sex appeal. The problem? These Chanel goodies won’t hit retailers until mid-2016.
No worries though, because we just so happen to be entering December, the height of tight season! *hooray* As it is prime time, I scoured the internet on the hunt for lace tights and found six nice alternatives to add to your hosiery collection. Now, we can put together our very own ‘Chanel’ inspired looks, at a fraction of the cost – and just in time for party season!

Pro Tip: Before I send you on your merry way, I wanted to mention being extra careful while wearing tights with zippered or studded boots. One second you’re crossing your legs, the next you’re wrangling tights out of a zipper. It’s all fun and games until your hosiery is caught in the crossfire! So, do pay attention to avoid any unwanted snags and hosiery catastrophes. (Of which I’ve had several. In fact, I keep clear nail polish in my purse on the regular now for that very reason. What can I say? I’m a klutz.)
