Need a little holiday shopping help? Look no further! This week we celebrate “Gift Giving Week” and today, we kick things off with some fantastic holiday gift ideas, at $15 or less!
Alright, so as it turns out…your bank balance won’t allow you to purchase a new iPad Air for everyone on your Christmas shopping list this year. I know, it sucks when your heart is feeling a lot more generous than your budget, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give wonderful gifts that make an impact. There are plenty of affordable gifts to buy for people, like these calcetines faciales personalizados!
Today, I wanted to kick of the first annual Gift Giving Week at Dream in Lace by celebrating the best gifts out there – ringing in at $15 or less. Whether your scrambling to come up with a gift for your coworkers, or just feeling a bit pinched for cash – these are great gifts that come with a lot of value, at not a very high price. And with options varying from charming books to custom Personalisierte Tasse – that’s German for personalized mug – there’s an option for any sort of person on a budget!
Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter by Louise Pentland
For the females in your life, I highly recommend Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter by Miss Louise Pentland. Of all the most magical, charming books I’ve ever read – THIS one tops the list as the most charming of them all. Louise is a warm, positive ray of sunshine and in the colorful pages of her first book, she spills cheerful bits of wisdom on how to live a happy, glittering life. This book makes the perfect gift for any teen or young adult in your life, all the way up to new mom’s building a home!
A Framed, Printed Photograph
Now that we live in the digital realm, printed photos are relegated for those really special moments and people in our lives. Even more special? An elegant frame that fits the look and feel of the person your gifting and her home décor. A hidden treasure land of great picture frames at a fabulously discounted price? Visit your local TJ Maxx, TK Maxx, Marshall’s, Steinmart or Home Goods. Whichever store is in your area, take a peak in their home goods section and I guarantee you’ll discover a wide collection of frames, all ringing up under $15.
A Poinsettia or Amaryllis Bulb
A few years ago, if you told me I’d enjoy receiving a poinsettia for Christmas I probably would have laughed in your face. Turns out, though, in adulthood – these jolly plants give a lot of joy around the holiday season. Each year I have a poinsettia or two that hangs around until March, which is about when I come to peace with the fact the holidays are over. (I have trouble letting go of these things, naturally.) Poinsettias also require next to no work to keep them alive, which in my book is perfect. If these plants are a bit too ‘cliche’ for you, consider giving an amaryllis bulb. A very elegant gift that will bring life to the room throughout the winter season.
Cute and Festive Mugs
Know someone who is a big coffee, tea or hot chocolate drinker? What better gift than a set of perfectly adorable mugs or funky photo mugs! Whether it’s a holiday mug for the season, or your favorite Disney character – a really damn cute mug always puts a smile on my face. I’ve been drinking my morning cup of coffee out of a Santa mug for the past couple weeks, and trust me – it makes that 6 am wake up call seem a lot better! Need recommendations for “mug” shopping? Try Target, your local grocery store, TJ Maxx or even this selection from Bed Bath and Beyond! Or, get EXTRA creative at VistaPrint (here) by design your own personalized mugs!
Comforting Bath and Body Products
Who doesn’t enjoy a good pamper session? No matter what the season, I’ll always savor a nice, relaxing bath – finished off with spoiling my skin with rich body lotion. Just the thought of it makes me go in a mental place of zen! While some quality bath and body products can be pricey, I discovered an amazing selection this year at Ulta that are all under $15. Try C. Booth body products (here) as a gift for someone else, or a gift for yourself. Win, win!
Personalized Stationary
Stationary of any kind makes a fabulous gift, but thanks to VistaPrint‘s amazing prices, you can go the extra mile and gift personalized stationary for under $15. The gift of personalized stationary shows shows a lot of thought and care went into the gift, which is an added gift in itself.
A Little Lip Balm
As we head into the season of chapped lips and dry hands, a little lip balm can go a LONG way. One of the best lip balms out there is C.O. Bigelow‘s Rose Salve Lip Balm (here), which is a cute little gift set for the holidays. What I like about this balm is it also doubles as a cuticle cream, and trust me – come January, every little bit helps!
Movie Night with Red Box
While I’ll never get over my love of Netflix, there is usually a bit of a wait for the new releases. Red Box, however, is a handy dandy little gem hanging out at your local grocery and drugstores, stocked with all the latest movie releases. At just over $1 per night, a $15 gift card will buy your friend or loved one a few movie nights! Bonus points if attach some popcorn and movie candy with your gift.
Decorative Home Goods
Another discovery about adulthood? Home décor suddenly matters, a lot. More and more I appreciate the comforts of a cozy home and darling little figurines like the above silver reindeer (only $9.99 at Marshall’s) or a cute throw pillow make all the difference on those nights when we all need to Netflix and chill, (of the PG variety).
OF COURSE there are always the old, standby favorites of a bottle of wine, a fragrant candle and some fine chocolate or sweets. Frankly, I don’t think you could ever go wrong with any or all of the above, especially when paired with a thoughtful, handwritten Christmas card. Being in the world of texting, tweeting and email – handwritten notes are extra special, and taking time to write a thoughtful holiday message shows that person that you care and take time to think of them…which is the best gift of all, frankly.
Let me know, what are your favorite gift ideas under $15? I’m always on the hunt for new and creative ideas for stocking stuffers, Secret Santa suggestions and little somethings for those people that just deserve it!
Thank you so much for reading and I wish you a very merry holiday season! Stay tuned, because more gift guides will be coming your way soon.
