Versace‘s sensual Spring 2016 couture collection hit the Paris runways this week, with supermodel Gigi Hadid leading a pack of smokey-eyed models strutting the catwalk in Swarovski tied looks.
I feel like it’s been a hot minute since we discussed Versace and Donatella’s reign on sex appeal.
Happy Friday my lovely dreamers! Last night the award season train continued with the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards, and this time Angelina Jolie showed up in all her goddess glory! A Jolie sighting always peps me up a bit, how ’bout you? The event’s red carpet was small-scale compared to Sunday’s grand Golden Globes affair, (there were no JLo cape sightings, unfortunately) – but that didn’t hold back a couple great fashion moments to remember. Also, we can keep tallying our award season score cards on just who is having the best year – and who needs to fire their stylist. (Do you have any overall predictions for Best or Worst you’d like to make?)
The large story of the night? How radically different everyone looked from the Globes. (At least to me?) Jennifer Aniston, Keira Knightley and Reese Witherspoon in particular pulled some big 180’s but I appreciate being kept on my toes, so no complaints. Keep me guessing!
In case you missed it, which of course you didn’t, last night was the 2015 Golden Globes – and like my sparkling glass of Asti, the red carpet was overflowing with stars. Hollywood REALLY showed up this year, to the point where not everyone fit and winners had to be ushered in from next door to accept awards. (Seriously, that really happened.)
It was a big night. Amal Clooney made her first red carpet appearance, fashionistas like Naomi Watts and Diane Kruger attended on the arms of their nominated men, and there was a ton of Versace to go around. It’s officially award season and it couldn’t have kicked off in a bigger way!
Of course, I can’t share my favorite looks from the red carpet without first acknowledging the late Joan Rivers. It’s the first award season without her witty commentary and it already feels a bit empty without her. Without Joan Rivers, lists like these wouldn’t even matter. So, in honor of Joan…let’s celebrate the 10 Best Dressed Ladies of the Golden Globes!
