It’s been a while since I’ve picked up anything by MAC Cosmetics. But, lately? My love for them has been reinvigorated, which lead to a sneaky trip to Nordstrom for lunch – on hot pursuit of their latest exclusive eyeshadow palette. Sold!
It’s just 2 weeks shy of a year since my last eyeshadow palette purchase. With each new launch, I asked myself one pivotal question: Can I do something new with this palette that I can’t already do with what I have?
As it turns out, the answer was a resounding NO. That is until the Nordstrom exclusive ‘MAC’s Finest Eyeshadow Palette’ sprung up on my BlogLovin’ feed…and the salivating set in, fast. It’s no accident that not 36 hours later it’s somehow firmly in possession. What can I say? When desire strikes, it strikes hard!
Trust me when I say, there will be a full HEFTY review of this eyeshadow dream coming your way soon. But for now, here’s a rundown of the 15 fabulous MAC eyeshadows included in the palette:
MAC’S Finest Eyeshadow Palette (15x)
– Beaded (light golden beige)
– Goldmine (intense gold with shimmer and frost finish)
– Chains of Love (midtone coined bronze with frost finish)
– Cork (muted golden brown with satin finish)
– Carbon (intense black with matte finish)
– Orb (soft peachy-beige with satin finish)
– Plummed (shimmering dark plum with veluxe pearl finish)
– Luscious (neutral bronze with frost finish)
– Soft Brown (soft golden peachy brown with matte finish)
– Trax (burgundy-plum with shimmer and velvet finish)
– Retrospeck (beached blonde with luster finish)
– Persuade (midtone cool grey brown with matte finish)
– Greensmoke (tarnished olive with luster finish)
– Felt (cool neutral army green with satin finish)
– Print (muted grey with shimmer with satin finish)
Of course, I did get that ‘when in Rome’ feeling and snatched up a few additional items, because – you know, when in Rome you do what Romans do! (And in this case, they buy coordinating MAC products.)
Being that I was snatching up the holy grail of eyeshadow palettes, it felt only just to pick up a new brush to go with it. Having several MAC 217 brushes on hand already, I ventured for one that would really pick up the eyeshadow with MAC’s 239 brush. I actually had one of these before, but it got lost somehow and I’ve been surviving with a nice version by Sigma ever since. I do agree, the Sigma brush is a nice alternative – but somehow, the original MAC 239 takes the cake. (Of course.)
As I said, I’ve been having a love affair with my current MAC products lately – more specifically, the Amplified lipsticks that to me deserve medals of honor. Best lipsticks, ever? Maybe so! I went for a really common shade that I’m actually SUPER surprised I don’t already have: Chatterbox. It’s a beautiful pink, that’s a bit punchier than your everyday pink – but not as in your face as say, Girl about Town or Impassioned.
Finally, I picked up a MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish ‘Natural’ in Medium. I’m a hardcore fan of Laura Mercier’s Translucent Setting Powder for my everyday powder, but sometimes – I want a bit of coverage. I knew MAC’s Skinfinish would give me a bit of coverage, while still being smooth and absolutely NOT cakey on the skin at all. I like powder that virtually disappears, and this is a sure-fire winner, in my book.
To recap, what I snagged:
– Nordstrom Exclusive ‘MAC’s Finest Eyeshadow Palette’
– MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
– MAC’s Amplified Lipstick in Chatterbox
I hope you like a quick haul post like this one! I actually had a Nordstrom #NSale post planned instead, but as this is my second Nordstrom order this month, I’m going to scratch that and say my Nordstrom shopping is placed on hold for now. Come on, have to have limits!
Like I mentioned, I am 100% doing an eyeshadow palette review coming up – but let me know if you’d also like to see some autumnal tutorials using the palette. Now that we’re near the end of July, it’s the time of year when I get a bit *itchy* for fall, and the eyeshadows included would be perfect for a transition look.
On that note, I’m going to immediately hit *publish* on this one and then dive into a hot bubble bath. That is my Thursday night ritual, after all. Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!

I had no idea this palette was even released, it’s probably not available in the UK yet though but it’s beautiful and there’s so many gorgeous shades that I would love to get my hands on. I already have a MAC customised palette but you can never have too many eyeshadows right so this is definitely going on the wish list x

That palette is BEAUTIFUL! I’ve been considering buying the empty palette pan to make my own recently, this has definitely made that decision easier!

Yea, I’ve been toying with getting the empty pan too – which I still think I may do, just not immediately. They also have ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ palettes like this one available at Nordstrom you should check out. The warm is GORGEOUS! xoxo
